I’m afraid I’m going to loose all my recent files as I had run out of cloud space and was waiting to fix it until I was done editing recent sessions!

Right-click on the Lightroom Library.lrlibrary package in your Pictures folder and choose 'Show Package Contents'. That will open it as a folder. Look for the 'Originals' folder, inside a folder with a very long senseless name (like '33d187a13d994eeea338e7509f3927ce'). That is where your original and possibly non-synced images are, so you can move them to a safe place. That means the images are saved, but the edits may have to be redone.

Now move the entire Lightroom Library.lrlibrary package out of the Pictures folder and then start Lightroom. Lightroom will now rebuild it with the info and images from the cloud. If all goes well and you are sure you have enough space, then import the saved images again.
