Lightroom Version Number
11.1
Operating System
  1. macOS 11 Big Sur
Suddenly I can no longer export from the Book Module or the Export Menu. In the export menu I get the following message 'No rendered photo exist on the disk" - but it does, I checked.
When exporting from Book module it just hangs.
I recently upgraded to LR 11 and Big Sur 11.6.2, but cannot pinpoint which upgrade caused this problem, if it did.
I have re installed Lightroom.

Anyone have the same problem? Or a solution?

Solved, maybe...It seems that this problem has occurred before with others. The solution is to change permissions on the Desktop to allow everyone (all users) access to read and write on the desktop......cant say I am happy about this...but it seems to be the only way to get a export out of Lightroom.

Hi Ken

Depends which OS you were on before, but it is indeed an OS change. Once LrC has permissions to all the relevant folders, it works fine as before.

Paul, thanks for the answer. Interestingly I was on Big Sur before, that is why I thought it was a Lightroom problem. Still cant understand why I suddenly need to give access to the Desktop to everyone. Surely a potential security loophole - but that is not a LR issue.
