Lightroom Version Number
6.14
Operating System
  1. Other (please note in thread)
My daughter frequently sends me jpg files that have been taken on her Android based mobile. On macOS Catalina I can open the files in Preview but Lightroom 6.14 will not open them (the problem also existed in Mojave). My current work around is to open the file with DxO OpticsPro 11 and export the image to my desktop. Now it has the suffix '_DxO.jpg' and Lightroom will open it.

Is there a solution that allows Lightroom to open the file with this workaround?

Apologies if this has been raised before, I did a search of the forum based on 'Android' but found nothing.

Thanks,
Davide

Jpeg is jpeg, there is no such thing as an ‘Android jpeg’ that would be different. Do these files lack an extension, perhaps? That would explain it.

Sorry for my incorrect terminology. The photographs were taken on a Google Pixel 2 mobile phone which runs on Android software. The images have the extension '.jpg'.
