I have a number of images in Lightroom, primarily panoramas, that were edited in Photoshop and then were returned to LR as an edited Tiff. Many of these files are are over 350 MB. The same images as a Jpgs are a little over 40 MB. These images do not need to be in Tiff format. I would like to "replace" these Tiffs with Jpgs. Is there a way to do this within LR, or will I need to export the files as Jpgs and re-import them in to LR?

You will need to export the TIFFs and save as JPEG. If you have the original (RAW?) images stored in the catalog, then you can recreate the panorama on demand as a DNG from within LrC. If you an accept that, then after the Pano TIFFs have served their initial purpose they could be deleted from Lightroom.

Since JPEGs are 8-bit lossy images and the least desirable permanent record, consider saving the TIFFs as 8 bit flattened TIFFs for a smaller image foot print. Do you know if the PS TIFFs were saved as layers? Or a flat single layer file?

To elaborate on Cletus's reply, select all the TIFFs, do File > Export, and select the Export options:

Export Location > Add To This Catalog
Export Location > Add To Stack: Below Original
File Settings > Image Format: JPEG
File Settings > Quality: 85 (anything higher isn't visually noticeable but takes much more space)
File Settings > Color Space: sRGB (if you'll view these primarily on the Web) or Adobe RGB (if you're primarily printing)
Metadata > Include: All Metadata
Metadata > Write Keywords As Lightroom Hierarchy

This will export the JPEGs back into the catalog, stacked below the TIFFs, with all the metadata preserved. Once the export completes, delete the TIFFs.
