As many of you likely know, Mask AI is software that can be used either as a stand-alone app or as a plug-in in Photoshop. My preference is to use it as a stand-alone app. However, after I finish processing an image in Mask AI & save it, the file is not recognizable & cannot be opened. This occurs regardless of the file format I save it in, whether the file is compressed or not, and the location to which I save the file. I contacted Topaz Labs who found this odd & could not offer any explanation to remedy.

So I am hoping that someone here might have experienced the same issue & can offer some help. Thank you so much.

After further investigation, the problem appears to be that a TIFF file sent directly from Mask AI to my Mac Desktop is somehow damaged (according to an error message). I can only surmise that Mask AI & the Mac OS are not compatible when it comes to exchanging TIFF files. (BTW, this is not a problem with JPEGs). This is perplexing since the developer of Mask AI apparently is not aware of this issue with Mac users. Hopefully one of you might be able to shed some light on this issue.

In the meantime, since my objective is to get that saved TIFF file from Mask AI back into Lightroom Classic, is there a way to save the file from Mask AI directly into Lightroom, thus bypassing the Mac OS?

Thank you for any help you can offer.

I seem to remember some issues of the 'byte order' (endian) recorded in TIFF files causing problems. You may want to investigate if you can control the endian assigned. Search the forum for more details.

I did a search &, admittedly, this topic seems very cryptic to me. But, more importantly, I am still trying to see if there is a way to save a TIFF file from Mask AI directly in to Lightroom Classic.
