Not able to upload Nikon Raw files from card into Lightroom CC camera raw 9.3. She has a canon raw files and uploads those into LR with no problems.

Camera Raw 9.3 is used in Lightroom 6.3, so at the very least your friend should update her version to 6.14, which is the latest (and last) update of version 6.

But even that may not be enough, that depends on what model Nikon you are using. See this Adobe table which lists all the supported cameras and what version of Lightroom is needed for each camera: Cameras supported by Camera Raw

The D500 needs version 6.5 or higher. Update to Version 6.14 (that is 6.fourteen)
