Calibrate monitor question

How do you calibrate your monitor ?
I did consider the Datacolor SpyderX Pro calibration tool but that gets very mixed reviews.
I run LR5 on a Windows 10 system with Dell monitor.

I have used an X-rite I1DisplayPro since LR5 and perhaps before i1Display Pro | X-Rite Monitor Calibration Device

As Cletus, I use a X-rite I1DisplayPro.

I have used Datacolor Spyders with their software and with NEC's Spectraview software with no issues.
