I picked random 22 Nikon Raw files clicked on Denoise and it took just under 262 seconds to complete. The machine was a 16" MacBook M2 Pro Max with 64GB mem. 12 CPU cores and 38 GPU cores All cores working and all GPU cores working. Don't know if this was good or bad. First time I have heard...
I did a photoshoot of a friends wedding. It was indoors an the light was not great. I was trying to avoid flash if possible. I was using a Nikon Z6ll and a Z6. Lenses were 24-70 F4 and a Nikon 70-200 F4. Did a few with bounced flash but most were taken in natural light, just letting auto iso...
Tried that, makes no difference. I looks like it is remembering the size of the area of the studio display. When you then open Lightroom with the display disconnected say, in edit mode part ofthe image is off the screen. Same with grid view part of the grid is off the screen. I just thought it...
I am running Lightroom (latest) on a MacBook Pro M2. This is running normally in clamshell mode connected to a Studio Display. Now I put the machine to sleep and unplug the display while Lightroom is still running.
Now the problem is that when I open up the screen on the MacBook Pro and go to...
Thanks for your input. I went for the M2 as similar specs on an M3 would have been over £1000 more. I tend to go towards the previous generation for the best value for money.
I recently was running Lightroom from a 27" iMac (2019 32GB Men. Booted off of a 500GB Thunderbolt drive). I decided to change my setup to a Mac Studio display and a 16" M2 MacBook Pro. After trying various Mem /Storage combos I found a good offer of a new 16" M2 MacBook Pro Max 12 core CPU...
Hi, I have the same problem with item 1 (2019 iMac running latest Sonoma).
If I go to Library and in Grid View and have the filmstrip open and say select the first image in the grid and use the cursor keys to move along the top row in the grid the Navigator preview displays the first...
Just completed the move all went OK Many Thanks for your help.
One other thing. The external (Samsung X5) Thunderbolt drive is working really fast (about 2500MB/s). Should I keep the Lightroom cache/previews on this drive rather than the Lacie USB C (450MB/s). My guess would be the fastest...
Thanks for the info. I think I will go with the manual copying of the files. So I should just copy the lrcat, Helper, Preview files. Plus of course the folder structure containing my photographs to location on my new drive?
Then open this catalogue on the new drive?
I have Lightroom installed on my 1TB Fusion drive of my 2019 iMac. However I have kept my Catalogue, Photographs and Cache on a USB C connected Lacie SSD drive.
Now I am going to make a change to my system layout. I am going to set up the machine to boot from a Thunderbolt connected PCie SSD...
I have a Canon Pro-100s in which I use Octoinkjet ink on Black Diamond Glossy Photo paper. Without getting into colour calibration what are the best (basic) settings to use in the Print Module. I have tried the default setting which appear not to bad unless it is a dark scene like a sunset in...
