Lightroom Classic 11.0 has been released today. As Lightroom is subscription software, this isn’t a 11.0 in the conventional sense. Adobe tend to update the main version number annually around the time of Adobe Max and this year is no exception. Of course, new features have been released every few months, rather than having to wait for a single x.0 release. In the last year, we’ve had:
- 10.1 (December 2020) – macOS Big Sur compatibility.
- 10.2 (March 2021) – Performance improvements, Beta Nikon tethering support.
- 10.3 (June 2021) – Native Apple M1 chip support, Super Resolution, Preset changes.
- 10.4 (August 2021) – Duplicate Collection Sets, Nikon Tethered Live View support.
- many mobile and Lightroom Cloud-based improvements, as well as smaller features.
The entire Lightroom cloud-based ecosystem has also been updated today too.
New bugs…
- There are some reports of crashes when using Select Sky or Select Subject. In most cases, updating the graphics card driver from the manufacturer’s website solves this issue.
- There’s a couple of reports of catalogs failing to upgrade which is being investigated, but it’s fairly rare. UPDATE – this is addressed in 11.0.1, now available using the usual update procedure.
System Requirements
The minimum system requirements for Lightroom Classic 11.0 have been updated:
- Windows 10 v1909 or later, or Windows 11.
- macOS 10.15 (Catalina) or later.
Sync Minimum Version
Due to the new Masking feature, the cloud database format has been updated. To continue syncing, you must use Lightroom Classic 10.4 or later.
Lightroom Classic 10.4 still runs on older computers (e.g. Macs released since 2012 as long as they’re running macOS Mojave), and can still sync with the cloud, however Lightroom Classic 10.4 won’t understand any masking adjustments done using the newer mobile apps. Lightroom Classic 11.0 has full sync compatibility for masking.
Masking
The headline addition to Lightroom is Masking, and wow, what a game-changer! You may have already seen Adobe’s sneak peak video a few weeks ago, so we’ll just cover the highlights in this blog post. We’ve completely rewritten that chapter in the Lightroom Classic – Missing FAQ ebook, so you can learn to harness all of the power now at your fingertips.
The Local Adjustment tools have now been merged into a single Masking icon in the toolstrip (beneath the Histogram), then up pops a list of selection tools.
The existing Local Adjustment tools – now renamed to the Brush, Linear Gradient and Radial Gradient – are still there.
The Color Range Mask, Luminance Range Mask and Depth Range Mask are still there too, but they’re now first-class citizens, so you don’t have to make another kind of selection first (unless you want to). The sliders for the Luminance Range Mask and Depth Mask have been updated to offer more control, but existing edits still render as they did before.
There are two new options: Select Subject and Select Sky. These use artificial intelligence to automatically select the sky, a person, an animal, or any other kind of object that’s clearly the subject of the photo. It’s not perfect, but it’s amazing how well it works for a one-click solution, and you can refine the selection using the other selection tools.
In this example, we used Select Subject, then inverted it so we can adjust the background color (shown here with a red overlay).
Using all of these tools together brings a huge amount of power to your local adjustments, as well as speeding up your workflow. All of the different types of mask can now be inverted too.
You can go further too, as the different types of selection tool can be added or subtracted to create the perfect mask. You can now select around a window using 4 gradients, rather than having to paint a time-consuming mask. Or use Select Sky to capture most of the sky and add any bits it missed using the brush tool. Perhaps you want to apply additional noise reduction to only the shadow areas of a photo, so you use a Luminance Range Mask to quickly select them. The possibilities are endless!
There’s also a new Masks panel, so you can easily manage your masks, renaming them and turn them on and off individually. There’s a range of new overlay styles, so you can easily see which areas of the photo are being affected. And what’s more, your individual masks can be synced or copied to other photos or saved as part of a preset.
There are other smaller changes too, like the pins now have different icons for the different tools, and Show Edit Pins is now set to Auto by default.
Many of the keyboard shortcuts for Masking have changed, so we’ve updated the free Keyboard Shortcuts PDF download too.
There are two warnings to note:
- Check your backups! There’s a new companion file alongside your catalog. It’s a folder on Windows, a package file on macOS, and it’s called [catalog name].lrcat-data. It contains LUT data from imported profiles (reducing the size of the catalog itself) plus any Select Subject and Select Sky masks. In other words, it’s an essential file that contains some of your edits. It’s automatically included in Lightroom’s zipped backups, but if you only run your own backups, make sure that you include it.
- Not backwards compatible! Older Lightroom and ACR versions will not understand the new mask format, even if you write the settings to XMP and then import the photos into an old catalog. There are new ACR and Lightroom Cloud apps that are fully compatible.
Metadata Panel
There’s two new buttons in the Metadata panel. Target Photo displays and edits only the metadata of the active photo, whereas Selected Photos retains the old behavior.
If you click the icon in the top left corner of the Metadata panel, you switch to Edit Only view. It only shows fields that can be edited, and it doesn’t show any of the existing metadata, so it’s faster.
You can also now choose which metadata to show in the Default metadata view, and of course, the fewer fields that are visible, the better the performance.
Other Performance Improvements
- Multitasking – Previous versions of Lightroom worked on sequential read operations for the catalog, meaning if you started a write task (apply a preset to hundreds of images) you had to wait for it to end to do anything else. Now Lightroom takes advantage of the multithreading concept, so more operations can be done simultaneously. Catalog write operations continue to be queued and executed sequentially.
- Automatically Write to XMP – Previously, if this setting was enabled in Catalog Settings, XMP data was written every time you made an adjustment in the Develop module. Now it waits until you move to the next image. You can also now pause it in the Activity Center if there are a large number of photos to be updated.
- Batch Editing – If you apply edits to multiple images in Grid, Secondary Grid or Survey mode, the thumbnail previews are now updated much faster than earlier versions.
- Video & Slideshow (macOS) – On macOS, the Video and Slideshow playback and export have been updated to use Apple Metal to improve performance. The Slideshow module Loupe view should also perform better in this release.
More New Presets
The previous sets of new Adobe presets have been so popular, they’ve just added another 8 sets of presets for you to enjoy! You’ll also note the User Presets folder has now moved to the top of the panel to make it easier to access your own presets.
Filter by Specific Date
In the Metadata filter pop-ups, there’s new Month and Day options, so you can find all of the photos shot on a specific date regardless of the year, for example, an anniversary date each year.
Adobe Stock Photographers Rejoice!
If you use the Adobe Stock plug-in to submit stock photos, you’ll be pleased to find that the keyword hierarchy and sort order are now sent to the stock website, rather than being sorted into alphabetical order.
Catalog Upgrade
This release upgrades your catalog format, so just be aware that you can’t easily roll back to 10.4. You may decide to hold off updating to 11.0 until more general feedback is received. If your CC App already updated Lightroom Classic to 11.0 automatically, here’s the details on rolling the version back.
Previous to 10.0, Lightroom always appended a -2 to the end of the old catalog name, which has become confusing with some ending up with catalog names like Catalog-2-2-2-2. In version 11.0 (like 10.0), you can now set the name for the new catalog in the upgrade dialog. The default is to use the old catalog name followed by -v11. If you retained this when 10.0 came out, you’ll see the suggestion will be -v10-v11. You may decide to change to just catalogname-v11 by simply removing the -v10. Our example uses the Catalog Name ‘Personal’. The Upgraded Catalog name and path to it is displayed under the editable name.
For more details on catalog upgrades, see our blog post Why is Lightroom asking to upgrade my catalog and what does it do?

How do I update?
To update, go to Help menu > Updates or click the Update button in the CC app. The update servers take a while to push the updates around the world. This is deliberate to avoid overloading the servers. You can also open the Creative Cloud app, click the … icon (top right) and select Check for Updates to give it a nudge.
Is the book updated?
The eBooks for Adobe Lightroom Classic – The Missing FAQ are already updated for these changes, and can be downloaded immediately after purchasing. If you already have a current Lightroom Classic Premium Membership, the updated eBooks are available for download in your Members Area. As Masking is a radical change to the previous Local Adjustments, the chapter is replaced in the latest eBooks with a new Develop Masking chapter.
HDR has been broken for a year or two. It use to always balance out to as close to EV0 as possible, but since one of the major version updates, it now always balances out to exactly the average between all of the shots. Ergo, if I shoot -6, -3, 0, the resulting HDR is extremely under exposed.
I know that inevitably someone is going to argue and say that I am doing it wrong, that I should be shooting +3 and +6 as well, but you are incorrect. This functionality worked for years in LRC. The specific reason that you would want to bracket your shots for under exposure is that the brightest lights on buildings in cityscapes are always blown out at EV0. Prior to the update, I could correct this by shooting -6, -3, and 0, or -4, -2 and 0 and then merging the images. The over exposed lights would appear normally. LRC was smart enough to still get the image aligned at around EV0.
The closest I’ve been able to get to the old functionally is to manually raise the exposure bar to +3 or +4 after merging, however I can tell that it isn’t the same. The signs all look blown out now. It’s crazy because we had a working solution to fix this problem for years, and now we are back to square one.

Any reason why my 2020 Macbook Air M1 would not allow me to upgrade from 10.4 to 11? Says I am up to date with the 10.4….
Restarting the computer is always a good first place to start.
Before the update I was able to change the opacity of my presets. I cannot find the slider for the preset anywhere. Is this still avaolable and where am I missing it!
That’s only been possible in Lightroom via a plug-in called Fader. You can change the amount of profiles in the Profile Manager, but not presets. That said, there is a fade preset feature currently in beta for ACR, so it should come to Lightroom in due course.
Hi Victoria
Is that Beta availble for us?
Would like to try the “fade preset” function.
Thommy
Yes, here’s a bit more info: https://community.adobe.com/t5/camera-raw-discussions/p-beta-feature-in-camera-raw-14-0-releasing-at-max-2021-preset-amount-slider-feedback-thread/td-p/12471319
Hi
I aggree with above comments that this is the most buggy version of LR I ever installed. I so far didn’t have a single session where LR didn’t crash. It always says that LR has experienced a problem and needs to terminate – which after a while it then does. There seems to be a new feature that allows me to send an crash report – maybe Adobe knew it would be necessary for that version 😉 .
Fortunately so far the cataliog didn’t get corrupted and I could recover. I reinstalled the latest graphics driver – which unfortunately made no difference. The crashes happen randomly and are not specific to what I’m doing. If I hadn’t already done quite a bit of work in LR11 – I would go back to LR 10.4. Currently I leave and restart LR every hour doing a backup – so I don’t loose more than an hours work.
Another bug I found is that when working in a collection and removing a picture out of the collection it does no longer select the next picture but says “currently no picture selected”.

There’s one confirmed crasher: https://community.adobe.com/t5/lightroom-classic-bugs/p-crash-windows-abstürze-nach-aktivieren-der-xmp-speicherfunktion/idi-p/12482212
Bug reports for this release are much lower than normal though, so it’s odd that you’re finding it so buggy. GPU would be my best guess, and it’d probably be worth doing a proper clean install of the GPU driver https://helpx.adobe.com/lightroom-classic/kb/troubleshoot-gpu.html#solution-4
The Adobe crash reporter has been around for years, but it’s definitely worth sending if you see that dialog, as Adobe can track those much faster than OS crash logs.
Hi Uli
I also had random crasches and other unexpected behaviours.
But now it has been stable for a long period.
Do you run English version of Lightroom?
I changed from Swedish to English and after that – no crash whatsoever.
Thommy
Hi Thommy
I’m using the german version. Today there is an updated LR 11.01 – with stability fixes. So let’see it it is better – if not i will try the english version.
I am curious about the performance of LR 11 running on Catalina Mac OS? Anyone been working with it for awhile? I’m still using Mojave and LR10.4 on my oldish late 2012 Imac, with 32GB of memory.
Hi Edward
I’ve been using 11.0 for some time on my MacPro (late-2013, 32GB) running Big Sur and no issues. I appreciate that isn’t quite the same but hope it’s of some reassurance!
Thanks Paul. Its should be easy for me to upgrade to Catalina but first I need to set up a Virtual Machine thing with Parallels to keep Mojave OS in order to run some 32 bit apps, most importantly my old scanner I use to get negatives into to my LR and PS workflow. (So I guess I was wondering if it was worth effort, though I certainly want to try LR11!)
Support for Mojave ends (Apple) at the end of November, so no further security updates. Might be an addition reason to update.
Thanks for the heads up. I have three 2012 machines running Mojave!
Here is something new that I have noticed about LR v11. When I move folder “A” to my external hard drive, it now also moves additional folders containing files from folder “A” that had been previously exported to a separate folders “B” & “C”. I don’t like this & I have searched preferences to no avail to see if I can limit this. Can anyone comment on this?
Hi Bruce
This can only happen if folders B & C are sub-folders; is that what you’re describing? If so, dragging the whole folder will, indeed, do this (usually it’s what people want!). You can avoid by creating a new folder A and dragging just the photos (if the scenario I mention is what you mean, else explain further please!)
Many thanks for your response! I do not believe that earlier versions of LR (pre v.11) included sub-folders when I moved folders to my external hard drive. Am I mistaken?
If you move the parent folder, the subfolders go too. That’s an operating system function, not something that Lightroom can control, so that’s always been true.
Hi Victoria,
I just upgrade Lightroom to v11 on my iMac. The new masking features are very helpful. The selection process is more accurate now. But, I am having issues in applying any local adjustments. They took forever and preview happens after 20-25 seconds per adjustments. Even scrolling images is taking so much time.
My work is a bit heavy on Camera Raws but I never had any issues in previous versions but now it is lowering down the productivity.
My iMac specs are: Retina 5k 27″ (2019), i5/32GB DDR4 RAM, Graphics: Radeon Pro 570X 4 GB
I turned off Graphics due to hang issues and after turning off the system works great.
It will be very helpful if you can share some tricks to solve that. Your articles are always a big help to sharpen the skill set. Thanks
Hi Muzik
There have been some reports of performance and turning off GPU is always the first step. We would suggest log on the Adobe Forum, the more variations of GPU cards listed will help Adobe work out under what circumstances this happens (it’s for a minority of cases).

Hi Victoria,
I use Loupedeck+ with LRC on Mac OS Big Sur. I have the latest update from Loupedeck installed. The new super-great masks do not work with the Loupedeck controls. When a mask is selected the Basic controls only work on the entire image not the masked area. As normal all the adjustments work using the LRC onscreen sliders, just not with the Loupedeck controller knobs. Any suggestions welcomed.
😉
A new software version 5.0 has been released to support the new masking feature in Lightroom Classic 11.
But there seems to be issues in 5.0 that decreases the responsiveness of adjustments in Lightroom when using Loupedeck. They are currently working on a fix and aiming to release it soon.
Download from this link – https://support.loupedeck.com/loupedeck-software-download
Very helpful update, thank you for adding!
Lightroom 11 uppdateringsbugg
Seems like I’m one of those rare cases of catalogs failing to upgrade. I was on Mojave and upgraded to Big Sur so that I could run v.11 (Monterrey looks promising but I’ll wait a while for the USB hub bug to be sorted). The Big Sur upgrade was difficult due to a bug in Mojave (and Catalina), but I eventually prevailed. I never opened my old catalog in 10.4 but went straight to 11 only to find that it won’t even try to upgrade it, claiming an unknown error.
While I managed to get to a point where I can try to repair the catalog, that fails within a second of clinging ”repair”. I tried it on a backup catalog with the same result, then went back to 10.4 and tried to open a fresh copy of my backup catalog and that failed too! Also tried it on a fresh user account, never used with Lightroom before, but nope, won’t work and I’m stuck, not being able to do anything. ;-(
An update (logged in 🙂 – turns out that I jumped to false conclusions. My last backed up catalog was actually badly corrupt and as I very rarely let Lr make its backup procedure (since it’s so darn slow) my last one was from early May.
I make much more frequent local and online backups though, and made one just before upgrading my computer to Big Sur and then Lr11 but they overwrite previous catalogs and so it turns out that I gotten my very first corrupt backup (after more than 10 yrs of using Lr).
So seemingly having no current backup, I was pretty bummed out. But then I thought to check my online backup that puts deleted files in a 30 day trash can. There was no catalog there though but as it turns out, the service keeps 5 versions of every file that can only be accessed via the web interface, and the second most recent version was OK and only a couple of hours old!
So now all is well (barring any actual bugs…)! 😀
Oh that is good news Stéphane
I installed v11 earlier today and now it suddenly crashes.
Cannot open it without it crashing again.
Is it posssible to use previous version or do I have to upgrade the latest v10 to v11 again?
Any advice?
I have the latest graphic drivers installed.
You can go back to 10.4 by following the instructions below – and use the v10 catalog you have.
https://www.lightroomqueen.com/roll-back-update-previous/
Often it’s a graphics issue, it would be interesting to turn off GPU (in Preferences > Performance) and see if that changes things.
Thanks for your feedback!!
I managed to open the new catalog after running a integrity test when starting.
Hopefully it will be ok from now on.
I’m just worried it will crash or get corrupt and I will loose my edits and other stuff.
I will test to turn of GPU and see how long it keeps alive, thanks.
Regular backups…I’d suggest daily, just at least until you know things are settled.
It’s the most buggy Lightroom Classic I have seen so far.
GPU turned off and no XMP.
Still crashes and freezes randomly.
Really hope this will be solved soon – I have upcoming courses to show the new features in version 11.0.
Would not be good if everything crashes during class.
Are you Windows or Mac Thommy? Most of the crash reports I hear of are GPU ones, especially on Windows. That can still be true if GPU is turned off in preferences.
@Victoria
I’m on Windows 10 and Swedish Lightroom.
Someone suggested to change to English interface.
Done that and so far no crash or freeze.
Good tip @thommy. Make sure you report it as a bug if you haven’t already done so.
According to warning notice displayed when the Catalog Conversion process is carried out on this new v11.0 version of Lightroom Classic, it states that there is now a new folder ending in “.lrcat-data” that contains important data and that it should be included in any backup scheduling one has in place. However, Lightroom’s own Catalog Backup system carried out when exiting the application, fails to include this folder in its own backup archive. Is this a bug, or an incorrect notice warning?
The file will only appear once you have created Select Subject or Select Sky Masks (they are the ones held in there) and it should then be included in the zip backup.
Thank you!
Hi Victoria!
I’m not sure it is a bug or just bad design: You write that on the Metadata Panel, when you “switch to Edit Only view, it only shows fields that can be edited, and it doesn’t show any of the existing metadata.”
Showing only the fields that can be edited is great! But how is *not showing the existing metadata* helpful? Seeing empty fields makes you think that you need to add again something that may already exist. So, for example, seeing (in this ‘Edit Only view’) an empty Creator field the logical thing to assume is that the Creator has no value and that you need to type it in. Have you any thoughts or feedback from Adobe on this matter?
It’s by design, specifically for performance. The idea is that you want to work through quickly, knowing the specific fields you wish to add.
That doesn’t mean it’s a good idea, just clarifying that it’s the design!
There still seems to be a problem with the new masking functionality. Yesterday I tried my first time the “select sky” function and Lightroom was suddenly gone (did immediately crash without any notice or error message).
Fortunately I was able to restart Lightroom without any problems or error message (due to corrupted catalog because of the crash). I selected the same photo once again and retried the “select sky” and that time it worked just fine. Such strange crashes do not give me a good feeling…
I experienced the same issue. After playing a bit with the new masking tool – LR suddently crashed and terminated completely without any error. I could restart but my recent edits were gone and I kind of didn’t trust the catalog if it is corrupt or now. So I deleted it and used the 10.4 catalog and let LR update it again. I didn’ loose any real work as I hadn’t done much yet in LR11 . However I hesitate to carry on with LR11 as such bad crashes can easily ruin the catalog . I never had such crashes with previous versions and LR generally was stable.
Any chance you used Select Subject or Select Sky? There’s some crashes being reported with outdated graphics drivers, but you may need to check the manufacturer’s website to find the latest.
Yes I used both Select Subject and Select Sky a couple of times. It worked pretty well until it crashed at some point. Good point about the graphics driver – I checked the latest available is installed. Before I do any serieos work with LR11 I will cartainly test this out again to see if the crash reoccurs.
I have the latest display drivers installed (and windows 10 is also up to date).
I don’t know if it has anything to do with the crash but I did the failed “select sky” on a tif image that was processed in photoshop before (and not on the original RAW file).
Andreas, post it on the bug thread (link at the top of this post in red) as the engineers are tracking these crashes and searching for similarities in ones that aren’t fixed by updating drivers.
Nice update. I ran into a bit of an issue, as I also updated to Monterey the same day. LR would showed my folders as missing in “Macintosh HD” — folders on external drives, etc were all there. LR support could not find a solution; there problem wa with the OS. With th solder OS, I could put folders inside the “Macintosh HD” directly, but apparently that is an incorrect way of doing so. These folders live in “Macintosh HD/System/Volumes/Macintosh HD” Took a few minutes to “find the missing folders”!
Perhaps someone else is in the same situation. and this is the solution
Thanks for sharing. Yeah, Catalina and Monterey are really fussy about storing anything at root level. I’d move them into a normal folder like Pictures if I were you, as there’s a good chance you’ll hit other permissions issues too.
Thanks, I am sure that you are correct; I will move all those folders — via LR — into a regular place such as Picture.
Great update! The masking option is incredible.
All running smoothly on my 2013 MacBook Pro (Big Sur) and 2015 iMac (Monterey)
I previously had a problem with 10.3 where computer froze in develop module and followed your advice to revert to 10.1 Do you know yet if this is an issue with this new update – before I consider installing?
Lots (dozens!) of bugs and performance points have been worked on for the 11.0 release, so it’s definitely worth trying. Your old catalog (pre-11) is kept, and you can always roll back if needed, but news on 11.0 is very positive so far.
Upgraded and so far so good!
I can’t find how to invert a mask with the GUI.
the shortcut is always (apostrophe) ? On non-english keyboard, like the before-after shortcut, pretty unusable…
It is apostrophe (‘). We suggest log it as a bug with the Adobe Forum:
https://www.lightroomqueen.com/send-bug-report-feature-request-adobe/
That’s a bad advice (suggesting to log it as a bug with the Adobe Forum): one-key shortcuts on non-English keyboards have been a bug since beginning of Lightroom at year 2007.
I’ve myself have logged this last *three years ago* and nothing has happened to fix it: https://feedback-readonly.photoshop.com/conversations/lightroom-classic/lightroom-classic-toggle-flag-shortcut-cant-be-used-as-theres-no-keyboard-button-for-finnish-keyboard/5f5f45eb4b561a3d4267b95d
I’m not sure reporting it to the only people that can fix it is bad advice!
I would respectfully suggest logging this afresh is a good idea (that site is closed down), and hopefully others will add their comments. It makes it a current issue.
ok, but there should be another way to invert the mask, apart the keyboard…
right click somewhere? a tiny button hidden ?
At the top of the sliders adjustment – there’s a tick box ‘Invert Mask’.
Invert is in the right panel above the sliders
Sorry, I can’t see this. You’re referring to the Masks panel? Above the sliders I see Effect: which is set to Custom; above that I see only the toolbar with crop, spot removal, red-eye, masking. Could you please clarify?
I’ve just tried again and now I see it… It honestly wasn’t appearing the first time. Cancel my last post!
I believe you! Computers do their best to confuse us!
My toolbar also has only crop, spot removal, red-eye and masking. And in Spot Removal I can’t find Visualize Spots – am I in the right place?
Spot Removal Tool is now a ‘Bandaid’ icon and the toggle box is on the Tool Bar below the image window. Press [T] if you do not see the Tool Bar, or press [A] to toggle ‘Visualize’ on/off.
Go Adobe! What an upgrade! I love those “recommended” presets on mobile. My question is, does that feature exist in Classic? If so I can’t find it.
I love the new masking options! Too bad they don’t translate to Photoshop. I’m going to have to think about that one.
It’s not in Classic because the Discover tool is only in the cloud ecosystem. Maybe someday, but you could try it on mobile in the meantime.
When can you update – living in Denmark and just upgrade to Monterey. No new Lightroom or Photoshop in Creative Cloud yet
Restarting the computer might make it available. It’s rolling out around the world a few days. Mine appeared this afternoon.
Is the Catalina requirement absolute, or a recommendation ? My iMac became hopelessly slow with Catalina, but runs LR fine on Mojave. My CC says I’m up to date on 10.4, but maybe there’s a way to install 11 ?
No, Catalina (or above) is a requirement to run 11.0. As you’re on Mojave, CC App will say you’re up-to-date as you are on the latest supported on that platform.
It’s a hard limit I’m afraid, won’t install.
Thanks for the quick answer ! I can still upgrade on my laptop that I use when travelling, but I often want to make final tweaks on my big machine when I get home. I understand that the new masking functions won’t be recognised by the old version, but if I avoid using those when I know I’ll be continuing on the old version, will there still be compatibility issues ? Are brush stokes coded differently now in the XML files even if you don’t use masking ? Will there be other problems that mean I should stay on v10 on my laptop too ?
It depends on how you’re getting the files back to the other computer. If through xmp, the other global edits should still be recognized but no masking/local adjustments, as their storage format has changed. If you’re frequently back and forth, and can’t upgrade both to 11, I’d keep them both on 10. It’s that big a change.
Got it. I’ll stay on 10 till Apple release an M1 iMac. Thanks !
and still Grain rendering is broken in Develop module…
This has been broken since March.
@Victoria: are you able to ping them regarding this issue?
I’ve just spoken to a manager, that’s correct, it’s not fixed. It’s dependent on the camera raw team and as you can imagine they’ve been quite busy with masking!
Thank you for update. I really hope they do get to it in the next release, as unfortunately they have a tendency to abandon issues once the pressure goes down…
It is scheduled to fix, I just can’t share details on when
This is an unexpected surprise. Lots of people will be happy with finally getting those missing colour profiles for the Canon R5/6 and other bodies.
We’re delighted, so many now use the R5/6, love it, but were patiently waiting!!!
