Lightroom Classic 10.1.1 has been released today. As this is a double-dot release, it is a minor interim release containing a bug fix.
The update addresses and fixes an issue for specific files missing Lens Metadata. This was causing the sync to Adobe cloud to stall. The sync errors caused by this issue should now run successfully.
This is the only change in this release.
How do I update?
To update, go to Help menu > Updates or click the Update button in the CC app. The update servers take a while to push the updates around the world, to avoid overloading the servers. You can also open the Creative Cloud app, click Update on the left, then click the … icon (top right) and Check for Updates to give it a nudge.

I have noticed with the latest update that the transform tool is performing extremely bad. I mainly used ‘auto’ and sometimes ‘full’ before with my architectural shots and it worked perfectly fine.
Now I often have to manually adjust or even use the guided option to receive a decent correction. It’s really annoying and I really hope a new update will fix this in the future.
I have seen a report of an issue with one camera, Leica I think it was.
Haha, I wish I had a Leica… I use a Sony a7iii. But I feel the lens correction also seems to have a little trouble.
And I further noticed a less well working spot removal tool especially in heal mode.. Sigh.
Hate Adobe – they create a great product and then bloat it with stuff that is tested on the customer and not in the house. Moved over to Capture Pro for most stuff last year and very happy but have to continue to use LR for specific plugs in. SOoo slow and using up 80% of Ram (64GB full spec 16″mac) just writing to metadata. So not a professional tool anymore.
Here we are month later still sitting at 9.4, waiting for a solution for us MAC users wanting to go to 10.1. So frustrating….
Yes, it is frustrating, but better that they take the time to test it properly rather than rushing out another buggy release.
Hard to argue the validity of that solid approach which was practiced for a couple of decades. Proper & thorough testing used to be a badge of honor in the programming community. Adobe has shown on multiple occasions their ‘testing’ standards are far from adequate. The issue with ver 10 locking up the MAC quickly points again to less than ‘proper testing’ before releasing to the public. Regardless, we are forced to sit and wait. Most will be glad to see the solution in the next release, me included but IMO, Adobe owes it’s customers an apology for not doing their job.
Yeah, the profile issue in 10.0 was fairly rare and still only affects a very limited number of Lightroom users. But then trying to fix that in a hurry, they introduced the GPU bug in 10.1 that’s much more widespread and didn’t get caught in the rush to get a fix out.
Have delayed updating LrC, and was hoping a double-dot release was a cure-all, however, it appears not, yet. So am staying with the 9.4 version, for now.
This is creating a problem for ACR, for me, because the ACR version I am now running in Photoshop is not the same version as the Lightroom version.
Is there a way to fix this or is it best to wait for another dot-release of LrC?
The performance bug needs to go through much more testing before release so it was more than could be fitted into a double dot. I’d stay on 9.4 for now, 10.2 should be ok when it’s released. If the ACR for Photoshop is newer than Lightroom, you shouldn’t run into any issues.
No arguments, the last couple of releases have been a bit of a disaster. The Max release always seems to be buggy and the following release was just a sync bug. I’ve seen the future and I’m more positive.
From my perspective, Adobe seems to have a market driven approach to release management, whereas they should invest more time in full regression tests of non-beta releases so users feel confident about the outcome of new releases. Their track record with release problems seems to be trending downward.
Victoria, I am new to LR- I am using the classic 10.1.1. I used Aperture for 15 years but now am on Mac Catalina and had to switch to LR. I followed your e-book very closely. However, my first batch of images i “lost”. There is nothing in either of the LR backup or catalog folders. Regardless, my second and third batches of images, I had to edit, and download to a flash drive for my client. She is unable to open them with her PC and says the info reads they are 2.7 MB each. I need large high-res files ( shooting with Canon 5D Mark II) Please help! ANYONE?
Lisa
Set the resolution in the Export dialogue (you can even specify TIFF so it’s lossless if you require)
Size – are they raw files you have in the catalog? I don’t have the same camera, but my 29.5Mb Canon raw files produce a 19.5Mb full res JPG (uncropped) so would just question the original file format and the export settings.
Well, thought I’d try and see how 10.1.1 would do, coming from 9.4. Result: a complete lock up in one minute after LR had been started. Not able to gain access to the iMac with any device, trackpad or keyboard. Only option is force the power off, wait a few seconds then power it back on. Needless to say I’m back to 9.4. Really surprised that Adobe didn’t catch this in their testing PRIOR to going live. Even more surprised they still haven’t fixed it.
It appears to be proving tricky to track down and fix, so many Mac users are best sticking with 9.4 for now.
Yes Matt crazy they let this out with such a mess of bugs and problems. Adobe is trying to help me with some of these crash issues on my PC. Been working with them for hours trying to resolve this mess. Still no fixes yet. My PC has been hanging up and has terrible performance since installing Lightroom 10. So not only Macs are being affected.
Have you ruled out the GPU John? That’s almost always the cause of such issues.
Oh yes did that. Still major issues. Computer crashing. Adobe spent over 4 hours in my computer trying to fix things change settings, gathering file information to send back to them. Still nothing fixed!!
If the whole computer’s crashing, rather than just Lightroom, that’s almost always a hardware or low level driver issue. Which graphics card and driver?
When will tethered capture for Canon R6 be available?
Adobe doesn’t preannounce release dates, sorry
Any word from Adobe when the Mac issues with graphic accelerator will be fixed?
They are currently being worked on, and will come out after testing in an upcoming release.
Does this by any chance include a fix for the custom monitor profile performance bug on Macs, introduced in 10.0?
No, only the issue mentioned in this post unfortunately. That’ll come in a later release (when it’s all ironed out we trust!)
Feels like they must’ve really messed things up for it to take this long to fix. Does this bug show up in all MacOS versions (I’m still on Mojave)?
It doesn’t appear to be OS dependent (I have it on Catalina) although for me turning off GPU works fine, returns the performance I’d expect.
Why Are my sett up in the print module difrent in lrc 10.1 v.s 10. i print at fine art papir. what is rong whit my media&layout module. The Color on the print Are creycy
We’d need to understand a little more to comment. I’d suggest go onto our forums and explain further, ideally with an example, so we can assist.
By any chance (a miracle perhaps?) does this fix the v.10 user interface performance issues with Mac computers? Or should we continue to stick with v.9.4 for the foreseeable future?
This only addressed the one issue mentioned, none of the Performance issues unfortunately.
No, performance is horrible, completely unusable imho.
Worst part about 10.x is it makes you upgrade your catalog making going back to 9.4 not possible without a lot of rework.
True, if you’ve processed a lot before deciding to do so.
Turning off GPU in Lightroom Preferences > Performance has helped quite a few. 10.2 is the fix we’re waiting for.
