There’s a good list of bug fixes. These are the main ones:
- Library
- Export
- Develop
- D810 NEF Files could not select Adobe Standard Profile.
- Customers reported that they could not exit full screen after invoking it while spot heal tool is selected.
- Size adjustment bar moving when clicked but the value listed was not updating accordingly.
- Photo Merge
- DNG files shot using Leica Monochrom camera were unable to merge files to HDR.
- Incorrect metadata timestamp in a Panorama created in Lr.
- Web
- Metadata Export setting not working for Track, Square and Grid galleries in the Web Module.
- Mobile Sync
- Collection name changes were not properly reflected in other Lightroom clients (such as mobile or web). This only impacted collections enabled for sync.
- Customers reported seeing a “Waiting for connection” message inside Lightroom when Internet is available.
- Licensing
- Enterprise customers were unable to access functionality only available in the Creative Cloud version of Lightroom, such as Dehaze.
- As usual, there are still some bugs outstanding which they’re still working on. If you find a bug, click here to report it.
How do I install?
If you’re a Creative Cloud subscriber, the update will be available in the Creative Cloud app, along with an update for Photoshop.
If you have a perpetual license, go to Help menu > Check for Updates. Unlike previous Lightroom versions, it’s now a patch installer rather than the entire program, so it’s a much smaller download.
Adobe Camera Raw changes for CS6
ACR 9.1.1 for Photoshop CC and CS6 is also available for download.
If you’re a CS6 user, note that this is the last ACR update compatible with CS6. Photoshop and Lightroom will carry on working, so it’s not a big problem! So what does this mean for you?
If you’re using a future Lightroom update (e.g. 6.2) with Photoshop CS6, when you select Edit in Photoshop, it’ll give you a choice – Render Using Lightroom or Open Anyway. In most cases, either choice will be fine between Lightroom 6.x and ACR 9.1.1 in Photoshop CS6.
The exception is if you buy a brand new camera or lens that isn’t supported today (e.g. in ACR 9.1.1 or earlier). In that case, you’ll need to select Render Using Lightroom when editing in Photoshop, or you could use the free DNG Converter to convert the files to DNG format.
I’ll do a more detailed blog post on the choices a little closer to 6.2’s release, but the change isn’t cause for concern for Lightroom users.
Gianni Costanzi says
Is this release ready for OS X El Capitan? It has been released yesterday and I’m going to upgrade this weekend if it is compatible with LR6.

I haven’t seen an official announcement yet. I’m running ok on my MacBook Pro but getting repeated crashes on my iMac, so it might be worth holding fire for a few days if it’s a mission-critical machine.

Where is the best place to suggest ideas for future upgrades to LR? I would most like an irregular shaped filter in developer. Like the radial filter but where you can draw the boundary yourself.
Victoria Bampton says
The best place is the Official Feature Request/Bug Report Forum at http://feedback.photoshop.com/photoshop_family

Thanks. This is what I asked for in case anyone else wants to comment.
I am a Lightroom user since it was first released. The filter and brush additions in LR6 are superb. However as a photographer one of the difficult situations is correcting the exposure of the sky. Graduated filters on the camera or in Lightroom help but of the boundary between the ground and the sky is often far from a straight line. The new radial filter and erase brushes help but the latter can be time consuming to apply. I would most like an irregular shaped filter in the developer module. Like the radial filter but where you can draw the boundary yourself.

Apparently the dehaze engine is in all versions of LR but the slider in developer is only visible in the subscription CC version. Something to do with Adobe accounting policies! I have downloaded the free dehaze developer presets from prolost.com as they use the underlying dehaze engine. They work great.
Victoria Bampton says
They do indeed Geof!
Gary Anderson says
6.1.1 seems to be a real trouble maker. I have gone back to 5.7 because I couldn’t bear to use control-alt-delete one more time. Tried disabling use of GPU and that didn’t help. I found myself making a few edits to a rather small jpg which was acquired by scanning an old photo and on returning to the library from develop module would endure “loading” for five minutes before giving up on it. Facial recognition while handy would also create large time delays while writing metadata. Very frustrating release, I feel for anyone in a commercial environment using this update.
Victoria Bampton says
That’s strange Gary, most people are finding 6.1.1 a huge step forward. You don’t happen to have an AMD/ATI graphics card, do you? There’s a bug in the latest driver that’s caused all sorts of trouble, and it affects more than the GPU checkbox.
Thales says
Vicotria, the huge step should have been happened while developing the 6.0 version.
Stepping to a usable and stable version is fine in Alpha and Beta releases only.
Adobe released a retail version that should have been working as expected, but it is NOT.
Many people stick with version 5.7, because of the “bug report” items on this particular list came with 6.1.1.
I just can’t beleive they released a software for money that is loosing images while moving from one place to another, not properly export photos, significant slower than version 5.7 even on a high-end computer, etc-etc…
The other thing i smiled big is the “Enterprise customers” 😀
Is there a different version for normal customers, enterprise customers, and cc customers?!
Please tell me about the enterprise version. They got the Dehaze, but nobody else will?
Or Adobe just realised they gone too far with a starting shit version, and building features (and moooore bugs) into it after, only for CC customers?….
It is a same how Adobe tries to handle the huge mistake they taken with this differencial licensing policy.
Victoria Bampton says
No argument from me, I’d like to see a rock-solid x.0 release too. The Export bugs particularly should have been picked up before release. The move bug was so obscure I’ve only heard of one person affected. Many of the reported bugs in LR6 are due to a bugs in video drivers, and those are the ones most people get to hear about.
The Enterprise pricing is a subscription pricing (like CC), so they get Dehaze. It wasn’t working because the licensing system didn’t recognize the type of subscription, but there’s nothing more to it than that. That was a pretty minor bug fix unless you’re an Enterprise customer!
Thales says
Sorry.. I mean “shame” not “same” 🙂

Thanks Victoria. Think Adobe actually installed an updater yesterday because ‘something’ updated and I hadn’t seen the updater icon in my tool bar until today. Is that new or had I just missed it? I’m a newish CC subscriber, having mover over from perpetual licence about 4 weeks ago.
Tim
Victoria Bampton says
Yeah, that was probably the Creative Cloud app update which manages the software. It should have always been there hiding in the background since you signed up, and they push updates to that on a different schedule to LR releases: https://helpx.adobe.com/creative-cloud/release-note/cc-release-notes.html
