Quick Actions (iPad)
iPad has been shown some love! Quick Actions, which have been available on iPhone, Android and Web for some time, are now also available on iPad. This allows you to access features like portrait and landscape masking and blemish removal, which are not yet available in the main editing tools.

You can also automatically reduce/remove blemishes.

Edit in Photoshop (Classic)
The PSB (Large Document) Photoshop format for very large files is now supported for Export and Edit in Photoshop. This is useful for files that are too large to save as PSD.
Import Preview Quality Enhancement
The Import module has been enhanced to provide higher-quality embedded previews when reviewing images before import.
Sharing (Desktop, iOS & Web)
On Desktop, the Album Sharing dialog has been updated to more closely match the mobile apps.

On iOS, if you tap a link to view someone else’s publicly-shared album in your web browser on iPhone/iPad, then as long as you’re signed in, the album will also appear in the Shared With You album list in the Lightroom mobile app. This makes it easy to find again later.
Assisted Culling (Desktop)
AI Culling scores are now recalculated after editing, so a quick edit (such as cropping out a person who has their eyes closed) may turn a Select into a Reject, or vice versa. This behavior matches Lightroom Classic.
Albums (Desktop Cloud)
When creating new albums or folders, you can now choose where to put them.

Other Changes

- Batch renaming can now be undone using Ctrl-Z (Windows) / Cmd-Z.
- The keyboard shortcuts (6-9) now remove the label if that color is already applied.

How do I update?
To update on the desktop, go to Help menu > Updates or click the Update button in the CC app. The update servers take a while to push the updates around the world to avoid overloading the servers. You can also open the Creative Cloud app, click the … icon (top right), and select Check for Updates to give it a nudge. To update on mobile, visit the App Store (iOS) / Play Store (Android).
Are the books updated?
The eBooks for Adobe Lightroom Classic – The Missing FAQ and Adobe Lightroom – Edit on the Go have been fully updated to include the new features, as have the online versions (available for current Premium Members).
The eBooks can be downloaded immediately after purchase. If you already have a current Premium Membership for the relevant eBook, the latest eBooks are available for download in your Members Area.

Are the books updated?
Hi Queen and Paul,
(Duh) I just realized that as of 15.1.1 LrC (folders) didn’t change the catalog suffix to match the program version (15.1.1). After all these years I know I should know how to do it but I don’t feel comfortable changing the catalog file name especially manually (I don’t care about parent folder matching catalog name). I understand there’s a new function somewhere in LrC where Lightroom will change the filename and associated files instead of me having to do it manually. I’ve looked everywhere and can’t find it. Can you please point me to it and tell me anything else I need to know about it?
Thanks, George (GEGJr)
P. S. Also, when I change my copyright year in metadata I presume I have to change it in all presets. When I do it won’t change it in my older files too, will it?
Yes, that catalog renaming stopped with v14, just over a year ago. If you look in the File menu, there’s a rename option that’ll easily and safely rename the catalog for you.
For the copyright, yes, you’d want to update any presets you use regularly. That won’t change any photos that you already used the preset on.
Thank you
P. S.,
Ms. Victoria,
For some reason 😂 I had a problem finding this comment. I searched the blog I searched the forum and everything else. I thought I also looked in the “what’s new in lightroom 2025” blog. So where am I exactly when I’m on this page?
It was when 14.0 was released in October 2024. Here’s the blog:
https://www.lightroomqueen.com/whats-new-in-lightroom-2024-10/
Thanks Paul, Don’t know how I missed it. The date the 14x catalog was zipped was not until 10/30/2025. Thought that’s strange because Victoria said the catalog renaming process was 2 years ago.
P. S. Paul, got any good suggestions for renaming the catalog? I was thinking I’m just not adding a number suffix. What do you think?
Victoria mentioned just over a year ago – and as I mentioned the change was in October 2024. The catalog was no longer renamed after 13.x, so if a catalog was named 14, it was done by entering this manually when converting.
Catalog naming is individual; while generally just having one catalog is good (for searchability, backup, etc), some of us need more – I have one for work, one for testng, one for home, and simply name them that way.
Of course you’re correct. She (Victoria) did say “over a year ago”. I didn’t mean to say 2 years. I tried to correct it but it was too late.
Off subject of this post; I don’t understand why the reason for the text above “Logged in as gegjrphotography. Edit your profile. Log out? Required fields are marked *”?
Now back to subject of my original post. I assumed since the date of zipped catalog was 10/24 that’s when LrC was updated 14x to 15, thus why the zip file I found in Old Lightroom Catalogs folder ends with 14x.
Just installed 15.1.1 and it appears that theses items are fixed:
Every time I press an arrow key, an entry is added to the History panel
Masking panel entering values manually or via arrow keys no longer preview until Enter is pressed+
Excellent news!
Now what Adobe? My 15.1 update is showing “No photos match the filter” when I click on a folder. I just imported the photos yesterday and did my edit. Went back this morning to make a tweak and the photos don’t show up. Not in this folder. Not in any folder. What gives? I’m on a deadline!
In the top filter bar (top of Grid view), is it set to ‘None’?
Potential bug in LrC

It’s on our list above.
Great – hopefully Adobe fixes these “bugs” sooner than later
Just updated and on android mobile app, used to be able to edit pics with presets and then save to phone. Now says I must subscribe to be able to download these to my phone instead of being free..
I’m not aware of any changes on that… is it still happening?
It’s a real shame they didn’t manage to include tethering support for Canon R6 Mark 3 (especially as CaptureOne has it) 🙁
Adobe are usually quite quick with Canon products, look out for it in future updates.
The Vertical Transform in Lightroom Classic 15.1 now adjusts aspect ratio (stretch/squash) rather than just pure perspective. This should have been left alone, or at least give us the option for using the legacy version. This new stretch squash does not work for what I do, when the old way did perfectly.
Hi Tom
We’re not seeing any change in that; are you talking about adjusting Vertical? If you go back to 15.0, do you see the same?
File renaming or batch renaming using the date and time is pretty much useless as far as I am concern as it doesn’t takes into account the timezone offset. It’ all UTC only. Not consistent with Lightroom Classic or Bridge where both these apps take into account the timezone.
Looks like that’s a bug https://community.adobe.com/t5/lightroom-ecosystem-cloud-based-bugs/p-batch-file-rename-date-and-time-variable-is-not-picking-up-the-correct-capture-date-and-time/idi-p/15600221
I tried again with a different photos. It works intermittently (quick actions) when AI access not requested.
That could be worth reporting on the Adobe Forums. Perhaps analyze if it acts differently when AI is invoked or not.
Hi Victoria,
Waited for a very long time for quick actions to arrive for iPad, but it was delivered dead (almost) on arrival. It hangs up and complaining it can’t up date AI for mask. ‘ Update AI edits, Some settings require online access. Make sure you are online and try again. Lens blur ticked, masking warning triangle”.
Pretty useless as I am online.
I also can’t reproduce the screen with the photo of the lovely lady on quick actions captioned iPad. I only tried with an ugly looking chap!.
