Updates for Lightroom Classic 13.5 and the Lightroom Ecosystem (desktop 7.5/mobile 9.5) have been released today. There are some Feature updates in Lightroom Classic, along with bug fixes and new lens support. Lightroom Desktop is purely a release for bug fixes and new lens support.
Should I update?
If you’ve held off updating from Classic 13.2 due to sync issues or other bugs, then you may wish to hold off upgrading to Classic 13.5 for another week or two, and wait for feedback. There are dozens of sync bugs fixed, and we will get a clearer picture as more use it. Hopefully, this will be a much more stable implementation of the new sync process.
A week after release, the feedback is still looking positive, so we’re happy that it should be stable for most people. It also appears to have fixed most of the sync issues caused by 13.3 and 13.4.

Sync Workflow Updates
With 13.5, Sync Activity has been reinstated in the Sync Preference Window. If you have an image that is shown syncing that is stuck, you can right-click on the path of the file and select Remove from All Synced Photographs/Cloud.
Additionally, the diagnostic reports can be used to analyze stuck sync items; see our updated blog How do I troubleshoot Sync issues with Classic 13.3 and later?
Library Module now supports HDR
The Library module now supports HDR viewing in Loupe and Compare. Both Library and Develop support viewing HDR in full-screen mode.
To enable it, go to Preferences > Performance tab > Enable HDR in Library. It’s turned off by default as performance may be affected. The Grid and Survey views, as well as other modules, still show the SDR preview.

How do I update?
To update, go to Help menu > Updates or click the Update button in the CC app. To avoid overloading the servers, the update servers take a while to push the updates around the world. You can also open the Creative Cloud app, click Update on the left, then click the … icon (top right) and Check for Updates to give it a nudge.

Hi, my V13.3 catalog is not updated automatically to 13.4. nor 13.5…while another one (V12.x) was immediately updated to 13.5….Any suggestion why and how I can trigger an update to 13.5 ? Thx, MArtin
Victoria Bampton says
You don’t need to upgrade the catalog with every release. Usually, it’s just the x.0 release, but the 13.3 release also triggered an update. 13.4 and 13.5 are fully compatible with the 13.3 upgrade, so your v13.3 catalog doesn’t need updating again.
Martin says
Thank you, Victoria. May I express my gratitude, you are much more into LR than Adobe Support … :-)…and quicker…best, M.
Victoria Bampton says
Thank you Martin, that’s very kind of you to say
Stephanie C says
I recently updated to the latest 13.5 version after many sync issues on 13.3-13.4 (I reverted back to 13.2 in June until this update due to sync issues). Now, files are not showing in my catalog (they were there and the collections were syncing correctly before this update). I have tried “sync this folder” and verified folder locations (“update folder location”). If I tell a folder to sync, it shows a bunch of photos as being in that folder and ready to import, but when I do, no photos import and I get a dialog that there are no images to import, but they’re still not showing in my catalog. So frustrated! Going to revert back to 13.2 again! I don’t have time for these sync issues!
Victoria Bampton says
Hi Stephanie. When you upgraded to 13.5 again, did you reopen the previous 13.5 catalog (which is missing recent photos/edits) or did you upgrade the catalog you’ve been working on? From your description, it sounds like the former, then it downloaded newer photos from the cloud but only as smart previews.
giuseppe says
Hi, how could be possible to add MFT lens profiles ti Lr classic? It is useful when you extract TIFF files from Raw Digger
Victoria Bampton says
MFT lens profiles are built into the files by the camera, so Lightroom reads them from the files. You could build your own using the lens profile editor, but I’m not sure you could extract them from the files to use on tiffs.
DShipp says
I’m on LR Classic 13.2 because I am still reading disturbing stories about 13.5 performance issues. I can’t afford the time and bother of rolling back the catalog if I install and things go wrong. Do you have any intel on when there might be another update / are you saying it should be safe to proceed with update?
Rikk Flohr says
Bear in mind that most LrC customers are not experiencing the type of Performance Issues (a vague and imprecise term) mentioned.
A small bug fix is scheduled for the next week or two, but it is for Windows Crashes when using Enhance. If you are Mac it isn’t of concern.
If you are syncing images to the cloud, an update in the fall will require a version 2 catalog for syncing. That means 13.2 will not longer sync after that update.
Victoria Bampton says
We’ve updated our post a week or so back to say we’re happy to recommend upgrading. While a few people are reporting issues, most are more stable on this release than any previous 13.x release.
You may see some performance issues while it resyncs (if you use cloud sync), but that should sort itself out as the sync completes, so maybe consider upgrading just before you leave the computer and let it run overnight.
picchiolechi says
I am abroad, I updated the iPad version but the Upright function no longer works…
Victoria Bampton says
What happens when you try to use it? Is it just Auto that doesn’t work, or Guided Upright too?
Juan Manuel Aguilar says
Not sure this is a new bug or an issue with my catalog, but after installing v13.5, LRC became very sluggish after editing a picture, takes several seconds to update metadata and when I am in develop module, I can not longer navigate to next or previous image using left or right arrows. I have to switch no library module to do that or click with the mouse in the desired image. I tried stoping syncing to cloud, stopping write to XMP with no avail.
Any suggestions I can try? reinstall maybe?
Victoria Bampton says
That does sound frustrating. Reinstall is a good place to start. I’m assuming you’ve rebooted the computer too.
Juan Aguilar says
Reinstall did not worked, followed your troubleshot guide, the one with the multiple reboots… cleared preferences twice…machine still behaving the same…Mac Studio M1 Max, 64GB Ram, everything in SSDs, MacOs Sonoma 14.6.1
Deleted cache (100GB), it worker a little faster for 15 min… then went back to crawl.
Changed GPU settings several times… did nothing.
Each update makes things worse… sorry to bother you, but not sure what else I can do
Victoria Bampton says
Ok, post on the forum (link on the menu) and we can help you troubleshoot and investigate further.
coramamx says
done, thank you!
Psamathe says
After 13.5 my LrC is running really slowly. Under 13.4 I stopped syncing all Collections and emptied “Sync’d Photos so it does not relate to Syncing/internet. Takes an age to start and then really slow. Same machine, same free disk space, etc. just new version of LrC.
My impression is LrC is going downhill and Adobe don’t seem to be addressing the issues (so far).
Victoria Bampton says
Definitely report it to Adobe so the engineers are aware. Also, what’s your system spec?
Psamathe says
MacBook Pro 13″ 2.7 GHz Quad-Core Intel Core i7, Intel Iris Plus Graphics 655 1536 MB, 16 GB 2133 MHz LPDDR3
Not massively powerful, more the contrast where pre-13.4 speed was good/fine but after 13.5 runs like a dog. Only change was LrC version with massive speed difference.
Victoria Bampton says
Your GPU is under the minimum specification, so I’d make sure all GPU stuff is turned off in Preferences. That may or may not help.

This “bug” is listed as fixed, but the LR team had previously declared it as-designed behavior:
Lens Blur brush refinements aren’t copied by Sync Settings and Copy/Paste Settings

I found a bug where the Panel End Marks will not appear if the side panels are very long (i.e. with many things expanded). https://community.adobe.com/t5/lightroom-classic-bugs/p-panel-end-marks-disappear-when-side-panels-are-expanded/idi-p/14801691
Not as annoying as the bug where tooltips wouldn’t appear in the Grid view, but if you use Panel End Marks to remind yourself of things, this bug makes them impractical.
Paul McFarlane says
I use Solo Mode, so don’t see this issue. But you are quite correct, in Library Module or in Develop you lose the display.
George Scotten says
On the latest Lightroom Classic release version 13.5 there is a new lens profile (v3) for the Canon 24-240 lens. It has reintroduced the “bad borders” bug. Workaround is simply to select the older v2 profile.
johnrellis says
This bug is listed as being fixed in LR 13.5, but it was in fact fixed in LR 13.2:
(Japanese) “Select the Spot Removal tool” and “Flag photo as a pick” wrong shortcut

Paul McFarlane says
Thanks, incorrectly duplicated.
johnrellis says
This bug report was fixed in LR 13.4, not 13.5:

Thanks, transferred to the 13.4 blog.

Same problem as before. I’ve un-installed Creative Cloud then reinstalled only to have it fail.

Update
When the Adobe tech had access to my pc he did something that slowed my computer, still fast but noticeable.
I only use my pc for photos and word processing backed up my files and reset my computer.
Reinstalled Creative Cloud and now, after reset……Lightroom Classic is up and running flawlessly.
Paul McFarlane says
That’s great you’re all up and running again now!
