Updates for Lightroom Classic 13.2 and the Lightroom Ecosystem (desktop 7.2/mobile 9.2) have been released today. While these are primarily for bug fixes and new camera and lens support, there are also some welcome additions to Lightroom Classic. There are a number of important bugs fixed, see our list below.
We recommend that this is a version worth updating immediately.
Newly reported bugs since release…
- We will update as these are reported.
Lightroom Classic
Sort Order
There are a few new options in the Sort Order pop-up: City, State, Country, Aperture, Focal Length, Shutter Speed, and ISO Speed.
Filters & Smart Collections
There are a few new options in the Metadata Filter and Smart Collection criteria:
- Uses Masking shows images that have any kind of mask.
- Uses AI Mask shows images that have an AI-based mask (Sky, Subject, Background, Object or People).
- Uses Lens Blur uses the Early Access Lens Blur tool.
- Uses Healing shows images that use any kind of healing adjustment (Clone, Heal or Remove).
- Uses AI Heal shows images that use the AI-based Content-Aware Remove tool.
Flags in XMP
When reading metadata from and writing metadata to the files, Lightroom now includes flags. This is primarily for compatibility with Lightroom Desktop, and is not supported by other apps like Bridge.
Memory Management
When working in the Develop module on a Silicon Mac, Lightroom now releases more memory when the system memory is under pressure. This improves the memory hogging and gradual slowdown over time.
Nikon Pixel Shift
While not a new feature as such, there’s news for Nikon users who have a camera that is able to offer Pixel Shift (introduced via a recent Firmware update to the cameras). This became available in Camera Raw in January (16.6.1) and is now supported in Classic 13.2.

How do I update?
To update, go to Help menu > Updates or click the Manage Updates button in the CC app. The update servers take a while to push the updates around the world, to avoid overloading the servers. You can also open the Creative Cloud app, click the … icon (top right next to Installed Apps) and Check for Updates to give it a nudge.
Lightroom books
The eBooks for Adobe Lightroom Classic – The Missing FAQ have been updated to include the new features. Adobe Lightroom – Edit on the Go is unaffected by these releases as there are no feature changes.
The eBooks can be downloaded immediately after purchase. If you already have a current Premium Membership for the relevant eBook, the latest eBooks are available for download in your Members Area.

I’ve been having trouble printing to my Epson P900. The paper size in the Page Setup dialog is weirdly abbreviated with all but the most standard paper sizes missing. This problem does not present in any other app, including Photoshop. I’ve been able to Export to Epson Print Layout as a workaround (which thankfully is a very good app).

To establish if it’s a Lightroom issue, try reverting to 13.1 (if it started when you went to 13.2).

There is an issue with the White-Balance-picker on Mac OS Sonoma LR Classic for months and no update coming from Adobe. I wonder why Adobe is not able to fix this right away.
Victoria Bampton says
Ah yes, I’ve found the bug report on that. It was confirmed too close to the last scheduled update to get a fix in, so it may be fixed in the next update or it may be waiting on Apple fixing something, I’m not certain which. https://community.adobe.com/t5/lightroom-classic-bugs/p-14-3-sonoma-wb-picker-loupe-tool-is-stuck-after-first-click/idi-p/14378458

I’m having trouble with my GPU not working with latest Lightroom classic 13.2.
Edit/preferences/performance is showing graphics processor acceleration not supported by system. It has been fine before and I’ve been able to use it. All fine in Photoshop.
GPU is NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060. It is up to date and I’ve done a clean reinstall, and have ‘optimised’ LR within GeForce portal. Windows 11 is fully up to date.
As far as I can see it should be working.
Any help or advice much appreciated.
Paul McFarlane says
Check these Adobe steps, using Option 3:
This involves deleting the Camera Raw GPU Config.txt file.
It’s worked successfully for some others where Lightroom stops using the GPU but doesn’t seem to realize subsequently that it’s compatible.

I updated LRClassic tonight, and now find that LRC cannot read the MP4 videos produced by my Sony A1 camera?
At first I thought the card was corrupted. However, I was able to extract the videos taken today in Katmandu using Disk Drill. Those videos them play fine on Quicktime. I dragged them to a LRC folder and told LRC to sync the folder. It choked and said all the videos were corrupted??
This is on a MBP mid 2023 model, fully maxed out (64GB RAM and 8TB disk). LRC works fine on all other non-Video images from Sony A1, Sony A7R4, Sony A7R5, iPhone 14Pro and iPhone 15Pro.
Victoria Bampton says
Soooo many different scenarios when it comes to videos. Lightroom is limited on which formats it supports, but I’d be happy to try one of the files on my computer if it helps.
Burt Johnson says
Thank you!
As an experiment, I removed some MP4 files from my LRC catalog. That is, these are files that were imported by LRC successfully before the latest LRC update.
I then told LRC to sync the folder. After 10 min with no progress, I cancelled the import. LRC said there were no photos or videos to import. IE, it could not read the files now.
Here is a DropBox to one of the MP4 files. I am not sure offhand if this was shot on my Sony A1 or my iPhone 14Pro.

Victoria Bampton says
Apologies for the delay. Got it… and it imports fine for me, which means it may be something specific to your computer or catalog.
So next port of call is the standard troubleshooting steps: https://www.lightroomqueen.com/standard-lightroom-troubleshooting-steps/
Burt says
Thanks. Now that I know it just my catalog, I will start to see what the Heck went wrong here…

Has Adobe (or Nikon via Adobe) said anything about fixing the “broken Nikon Z8 tethering after Nikon Z8 Firmware 2.0 update” issue?
Victoria Bampton says
It’s an issue in Nikon’s SDK, so Adobe’s contacted them, but no news on a fix yet I’m afraid.
