Updates for Lightroom Classic 13.1 and the Lightroom Ecosystem (desktop 7.1/mobile 9.1) have been released today. This is an interim release, so these are primarily for bug fixes and new camera and lens support.
Newly reported bugs since release…
- We will update as these are reported.
Lightroom Classic
Support has now been added for the following IPTC Fields:
- Alt text (Accessibility)
- Extended description (Accessibility)
Lightroom Desktop
The Geometry panel has moved from the Edit panel to the Crop panel, and it has a cute new button to apply Auto Upright.
It’s also now possible to reset multiple photos in one go by selecting them in Grid view and going to Photo menu / right-click menu > Reset Edits for X Photos.
The Enhance dialog now has a Create Stack checkbox, which enables you to turn it off if you don’t like the enhanced image stacked on top of the original.
And for those who use Screen Reader software, there’s a new Accessibility mode checkbox in Preferences > Interface. It currently works well when using a mouse to navigate. If you use Lightroom and screen reader technology, the engineers would love to hear what you think of this addition and how they can improve it.

How do I update?
To update, go to Help menu > Updates or click the Update button in the CC app. The update servers take a while to push the updates around the world, to avoid overloading the servers. You can also open the Creative Cloud app, click Update on the left, then click the … icon (top right) and Check for Updates to give it a nudge.
Lightroom books
As there were no notable feature changes for Classic this time, the eBooks for Adobe Lightroom Classic – The Missing FAQ did not require updating. Adobe Lightroom – Edit on the Go eBooks have been updated. They can be downloaded immediately after purchase. If you already have a current Premium Membership for the relevant eBook, the latest eBooks are available for download in your Members Area.
I need some help with LR Classic to fix an upgrade.
I have a catalogue with subfolders for each year (only 4 at present and not many photos in them). LR Classic asked for an upgrade to v13 which I did. On opening my catalogue one of my subfolders disappeared.
This subfolder and the photos I have edited are in the backup folder and in the previous version v12. My question is how do I restore the v13 catalogue to get the missing subfolder in it or the old catalogue version 12 back into the current upgrade v13.
I did try upgrading again but a new version was created into my downloads folder. Can I delete v13 and start again.
It also happened with another catalogue I have.
New lens correction support: When will this come for Samyang AF 35-150mm f/2.0-2.8?
I don’t have an ETA but you can put in a request here: https://community.adobe.com/t5/camera-raw-discussions/p-lens-profile-requests-and-information/m-p/12354777
How do I tell if my bug (https://community.adobe.com/t5/lightroom-classic-bugs/p-local-adjustement-preset-incorrectly-listed-in-the-history-panel-as-mask1-update-point-colors/idc-p/14236893) has been fixed? Are all the fixed bugs listed in the Fixed issues page, or only the “most important” ones?
Will there be an update to the bug when it gets fixed?
I reverted back to LrC 12.5 due to the bug I reported because I’m worried that all the images I develop with local adjustment presets using LrC 13.x will have bad history that I’ll be stuck with forever.
I’ve just checked and that one is marked as acknowledged (it’s with the engineers) but not fixed yet. If you’re following that bug thread, you should get an email notification as Rikk Flohr always updates bug threads to say it’s fixed. It’s not fixed in this release, but it will be listed on our blogs when it’s fixed too.
Thanks for the info Victoria.
Thanks for the explanation, much better than MK’s infomercial. I think down the road this will be good but for now I am sticking to LRC. I love to edit in Luminar Neo with the LRC plugin which is not available in LR.
I have a question regarding the Canon RF 10-20 mm lens profile for Adobe Lightroom. My Canon R5 firmware is up to date, my Adobe Lightroom is up to date, my Adobe Camera RAW is up to date but in my Lightroom Lens Correction there is no Canon RF 10-20 mm lens profile when I open a photo shot with the RF 10-20 mm lens. When I tick ENABLE PROFILE CORRECTIONS then it picks the RF 16 mm profile. Any ideas? Thanks!
I would check on that. On December 5 several Canon Bodies had FW updates for that lens. I didn’t see the R5 on that list, only the R5 C. I don’t know why. I just checked Canon USA and I don’t see a FW update for R5 on the 5th. I see one from a few months ago.
Aussie link but it shows the R5 is not on the list.

Thank you so much for your reply. I also have the R6MII, it had a firmware update on 5th Dec. But there is only an update for the RF-S 10-18. With the R6MII I have the same RF10-20 lens profile issues as with the R5.
With today’s new Lightroom Classic and Camera RAW updates I finally have my lens-profiles for the RF10-20 for both the R5 and the R6MII. Thank you!
That is good hear. I had the R5 but sold it and got the R6II and R7.
Thanks for the information and reassurance
Hi,
I have updated to LrC 13.1. However, I cannot see the new Crop/Geometry panel nor the Enhance panel. While I can probably manage without these it would be good to know why they are not there.
Thanks,
John
Lightroom’s confusing naming bites again! Maybe I can add the logos to make it clearer, let me play with some ideas.
Anyway, Lightroom Desktop is the desktop part of the Lightroom ecosystem, formerly known as Lightroom CC. Lightroom Classic only had a couple of tiny metadata changes in this release, so your Geometry sliders are still in the Transform panel.
