Hi

I am new to the forum, but a keen LR user.

I've recently upgraded to LR 2.1 and have found that uploading from LR 2.1 to Zenfolio using Jeffrey Freidl's plugin, from my Vista machine no longer works. I have made contact with Jeffrey Friedl who produces the plugin, and he is convinced its a LR2.1 / Vista issue.

Ive tried to recreate the problem on my XP laptop but it works fine, its only an issue with Vista. Has anyone else experienced LR2.1 issues uploading with Vista?

Thanks

Kevin

Hi Kevin and welcome - this where you end up when you have a problem!!:lol:
I have been having issues with the Picasa plugin and Mac, so who knows???:roll:

Hi Kevin,

This year, I am in the process of converting( painful) from film to digital. So, I bought brand new Dells XPS desktop and laptop. Both have vistas and LR2. I have absolutely no issues with vista along with LR2.

Thanks Robert, I too have no issues normally with a similar Dell XPS setup with Vista and Lightroom; the problem only occurs when I try to upload photos from Lightroom to Zenfolio using Jeffrey Friedl's plugin. With 1''% jpeg quality the system just times out and quotes an error.

This used to work perfectly for me, its only since Lightroom 2.1 that I have had the problem, and Jeffrey Freidl seems convinced its an Adobe issue.

If any other LR2.1 users with a Vista machine also use the Zenfolio plugin, I would really appreciate to hear if you have experienced similar problems.

Thanks again.

Kevin

Hi

I was wondering if anyone else is experiencing the problem I have highlighted, that being uploading to Zenfolio via Jeffrey Friedl's plugin constantly times out on my Vista machine.

Any help truely appreciated !

Kevin

Are you sure you are using the latest Plugin from Jeffrey. Also you can post questions on his Blog, and he does answer them. I have done this often.

Don

THanks for your reply Don, I have contacted Jeff a couple of times on this (today again), but he has come back in the past (you will see on his plugin homepage) suggesting its an Adobe issue.

I am using LR 2.2 and the latest plugin (I have had this problem on and off for 3 months).

The stangest thing is that every now and again it seems to work, then nothing. Ive tried reducing file sizes but all to no avail. My machine is very highly spec'd so should not have any issue.

Are there any logs etc that can be sent to LR Gurus to look at?

Kevin

Hi Kevin! You may want to either download the upgrade to 2.2 or even go to labs.adobe.com and download the 2.3 Release Candidate. Also, make sure you have the latest version of the Zenfolio plugin. See if that works.

I have this issue as well and believe that it is the ftp protocol that LR is using.
I think a bug report is in order!

Kiwigeoff - I am new to this forum and see that there are some real experts on here. I have not been able to get Jeffrey Friedel's plugin to work at all on my system. You will note that I am still using 1.4.1 - too cheap to upgrade to 2.2.

I want to open a pro account on zenfolio, but I am hoping to avoid the two step process I must currently use to export to HD and then use Zenfolio uploader to place the photos into my Zenfolio galleries. If the plugin creator is saying the problem is with Lightroom, why are we now into March and I have seen no solution for this problem. BTW - I do not think it as an FTP problem.

I know that Zenfolio users must be a small minority of Lightroom users, but it would be nice to have some expert at Adobe tackle this problem.

Cheers!
