Hi,
I have Metadata "Automatically write changes to XMP" selected long ago.
Today, I looked into my files and found that my (Leica) DNG files do not have XMP, while older files from my Sony camera have them.
What am I doing wrong and how can I rectify this.
Thanks for your replies,
Aaron

Hi Aaron,

Don't worry I believe everything is ok. All the images from your Leica are DNG format. That means that Lightroom can save the metadata directly into the file instead of having to create an external .xmp file as was done for your sony ARW raw files.

If you want to check you can get Jeffery Friedl's metadata-viewer plugin. This useful plugin will display all metadata actually contianed in the image files.
