Glad to meet everyone here,

As you know now on 1'.5.1, the printing module is working in Lightroom.
But the conversion seems to be wrong. It renders weird colors. I tried to
double check it on 1'.4.11 and LR 1.3, found the conversion is correct.
The same settings, printer, ICC profile, LR version, the only difference is the Mac OS. I tried it on 2 LEOPARD Macs, the same result. On 1'.4.11, LR 1.1
through 1.3 worked correctly, so the LR is not the cause.

Is anyone getting correct conversion from LR 1.3 & Mac OS 1'.5.1?
Thanks, in advance.

Do you mean your prints have wierd colors? If so, what printer are you using? Prints on my Epson 38'' are coming out very light. I suspect this is an issue with the printer driver which isn't fullly Leopard compatible. Epsom says their fully compatible driver should be out in December.

hi Steve,

I am using Epson R24'' at my home. I think the driver itself is fine because
it works OK from any other softwares like Photoshop CS3. The symptom that
I am mentioning is like double conversion which should look a little washed out.
It used to happen sometimes with Illustrator CS2, which of course does not
continue any more. I really don't know what is the cause.
Again any one getting correct print from LR on 1'.5?

See Jeff Schewe's posts at Terrible Magenta Tint when Printing for an explanation of what is happening.

In a nut shell LR uses a Cocoa Printing pipeline and PSCS doesn't, so a difference. New Epson Print Drivers coming in Mid December. For the full details read Jeff Schewe's posts.

Yes, Photoshop CS3 would print correctly because it uses different printing APIs.

I am having the exact same issue with LR, Leopard and my 38''. Prints are fine with CS3, but prints from LR are washed out. It's the driver.

See Schewe's post about it.

I see there is a new driver for the 38'' is available from Epson UK. I wonder if it would work with my machine, or if there is a difference b/w U.S. and U.K. drivers. Anyone know?

Seems from the UtoU thread that if you can get it from the UK site, then do so.

Keep a back-up of the old (TM?) and check it out. Let us know.

:)

Just tested it on my laptop, and the UK driver works great. Yahoo! Looks like I no longer need to reboot into Tiger to print from LR anymore. The new driver is nicer, too. Much easier to change the print settings. No new driver for the 24'' yet though.

Thanks for posting the link to the U2U, Don.

You're welcome!

Happy Thanksgiving.
