Simple question broughton by the plethora of otions:
I have two backup drives and a third my working external editing drive. Before lightroom, I would copy my latest photos from the card to one of the backups, then copy that directory to the other two drives and simply work on the best shots in CS3.
My question is with all the options in lightroom I am not sure how best to import my pictures to lightroom using its cataloge benfits. I am using a MAC, not that makes much of a difference.
I was thinking I could:
1.import the new directory (while lightroom provides for back-up it only provides for one back-up)
2.globably add metadata,
3.choose the best photos,
4.convert copies to DNG from NEF, and
5.then catalogue those before working on them
Suggestions welcome
