Hi, My image collection and LRc catalogue is held on my desktop Win 11 computer.
I want to start using my laptop to update current images and also add new images taken while away from home.
Once I have loaded the new images onto my laptop and done any editing, what is the correct way to get the original image from the Lightroom platform on to my LRc catalogue, so I can keep all originals in one place, still keeping all of the edits and syncs etc?
I am using Lightroom version 9.2

Is this even possible?
many thanks in advance

to quickly summarize the PDF Paul has linked to, Consider that you are working between the Adobe CLoud and Lightroom mobile and the Adobe Cloud and Classic.

Unless you have grandfathered yourself into the 20GB plan, the current plan that includes Lightroom and Classic has a 1TB storage limit. This should be sufficient for most users. Imges imported from Lightroom are sent full size to the Adobe Cloud. These full size images along with any edits are synced to your master Classic catalog from the Adobe Cloud

In your classic catalog I recommend that you set your sync preference to use subfolders formatted by capture date. If your local imports are also set to import into subfolders formatted by capture date, all of your images will import into common date named folders.

If while traveling you keep Lightroom Classic running on your home computer 7X24, then as you sync your Laptop to the Adobe Cloud these same images and any edits will be on your home computer when you arrive home. This is the method that I use when I travel except my travel computer is an iPadPro running Lightroom mobile.

You don't have to do anything other than turn on LrC with sync un-paused. In your scenario, you import images into LR/Desktop (known as LRD and is the cloud based LR app version that runs on a Windows (or Mac) computer. Or you could import using the LR Web app instead. This places the full size original images into LR Cloud where you can edit them using any LR/Cloud app. The next time you launch LrC, those full size images, with whatever edits you've done in any of the LR/Cloud apps, will automatically be synced down to your LR/Classic system and those images will be placed in the folder you specify in Preferences and once they arrive you can move them to any folder on your Windows system you wish.
