The title says it all.

Do I lose my work in LR2 beta if I do not upgrade from version 1.4?

Cheers, Willem

Depends on what you have done to the file, earlier versions of LR cannot read what was introduced in 2. I am certain it was recommended to only work with copies of files with the beta as it was that "a Beta" and likely to change for final release.
I think you will find the upgrade worth it though.

You can upgrade from 'Both' Upgrade each (Beta 2) and 1.4 and use Imort from Catalog to combine what is not in one from the other.

Willem, Welcome to LR Forums.

Don, I think perhaps Willem meant that maybe he wasn't going to buy the LR2 upgrade, and if not, would that orphan his LR2Beta work?

And as Geoff says, I'm afraid the answer is yes, that work will be lost.

After tomorrow the Beta will cease to work and catalog access will be denied. The Beta program was there as a test and the readme warned to not use it as a production tool. That's why it didn't allow catalog upgrade. If you save out the XMP information Camera RAW 4.5 should read most of the settings. Even at that the Brush tool changed between the Beta and the release so those settings would change anyhow.

You still have the option of the 3' Day trial, or to render the files as TIFF or DNG.

Thank you all.

Brad, you where right in your assumption. And yes, I should have read the conditions.
