I'm using a MacBook Pro M2 for most of my Lightroom tasks, and it works well. However also still have Lightroom loaded up on an old Windows laptop, where it does not work very well because of the relatively basic graphics card. If I upgrade my Windows setup, I'm trying to figure out what I should be looking for when building a mid-range desktop for work in Lightroom,
These are some of the questions I've been trying to research.
- AMD vs Intel processor -what is the performance level or model I should be looking for in a mid-range CPU for Lightroom? Or is GPU the more important spec?
- Graphics cards - does Lightroom make use of higher end gaming cards, or does a low/mid range graphics card work just as well?
- Motherboard manufacturers - I'm sure they probably all work, but is there any I should avoid?
- Most Windows apps work better with more memory. Is 16 Gbytes enough, or would Lightroom work significantly better with 32 Bytes?
Mostly I'm just looking for any input you might have.
Thanks.
Bruce
