Will updating LR (to latest version) lose user-created paper profiles?

A friend, (using LR 10.4 on an iMAC using Catalina, has had several printer/paper profiles tailor-made to match specified paper and printer output with what is viewed on screen.
It is an expensive process but he says the results are good and worth the trouble. The problem is, he is using LR Classic V10.4 and does not want to update to LR 12.1 lest LR alter or lose his tailored paper profiles.

I offered the thought that an updated LR would continue to reference the installed paper profiles including user-created profiles, in the same way it references all other profiles and templates. He is reluctant to update until he has a reliable answer.

Are you able to offer some guidance?

Many thanks!

Updating Lightroom will not affect icc-profiles in any way.

The icc profiles are added to a system folder outside of Lightroom and Lightroom reads this folder every time it wants a list of available icc profiles.

Thank you so much Cletus. I now include these files in my standard backup, (different location than the Adobe b/u it uses upon shut-down).
