Will not export???

I haven't had a single issue and then all of a sudden it will not export. I go through the process, it says it is exported and then i go to the file location and nothing is there. I have double and then triple checked. Then if I try to export it again it says that a file already exists and ask if I want to replace it... huh???? There is nothing there!!!!

Basically my system is to export it into the same folder as the orignal file but in a sub folder titled "edited" I have other photos in there but nothing from today.

Something that has tripped me up in the past--In the export dialog box, at the top art, is a drop down menu that has choices for where you want to export to. To original..., move to...., copy to... Somehow one of those may have gotten changed and sent your file somewhere unexpected. Check that out and see if that's it. Maybe someone else will have other ideas.
