Why is it so ??

I have a strange feeling that i am just missing something very fundamental so please enlighten me...

Why can i not see my ext harddrive in LR ?
Or should i be asking how do i get it so i can ?

Import a file from it. You may want to place a "dummy file" at the top level and import that.
Or you can click the + in the folder panel and add it from there.
