Why does LR allow selecting more than one color profile at a time?

I was having some trouble with a color print and I invited a friend over who is a real photoshop wiz... http://www.lavogel.com/ We were looking through my LightRoom setup, (Larry has never used LR) and he found it odd that one could select multiple color profiles in LR.
Is there a way to set the program so that does not happen or was the program designed that way for a reason?

In the print module under profiles it lists all of your ICCs with a check box to the left. You can have more than one of these checked at a time... when you do.... hilarity ensues.

If we're looking at the same dialog, the checkmarks only add the profile to the dropdown menu so you can limit the list to the ones you use, but the profile actually used is the one selected in that dropdown.

Dear Victoria,

I will post some screenshots tonight...

Here is the field I am referring to. It appears that you can select multiple profiles under "Other" or does this not matter? Am I not understanding how to correctly set up my profile in LR?

On the top of your screeshot it says: "Choose profiles to appear in Custom Profile popup". Included is a screenshot where these profiles appear.
They just give you a shorter path to choose the profile you wish to print with. So instead of opening the popup everytime you need to change profile and then scroll through a long list of profiles you have your wanted few very close.

Here you can only choose one.

That´s how I understand it.

Regards,

DOH!

Now I are a Photographer.......

Thanks.
