White balance tool

Here's one that I don't think any one else has mentioned.

I do a lot of portraits with a grey background but I find the white balance in lightroom makes it a very cold grey which does nothing for the models complexion. After exporting I have use the grey balance in PS curves ( which is set up to be a bit warmer).

Can we have a white balance tool that can be calibrated to a different shade of grey or better still works like the white point tool in PS curves.

The white balance tool is working exactly like it is supposed to. If you want an accurate white balance you should use a gray card or colorchecker in front of your key light close to the model's position.

I find that I rarely like neutral skintones, so I find a neutral WB then use shift-up arrow a couple of times in the WB field to bump it a little warmer. The spit toning function can also be used to warm up a photo on top of a neutral WB.

Thanks, thats a new short cut for me, but it doesn't solve my problem as it turns the image yellow and I'm trying to get it a bit redder. It's probably just me, but even using a grey card the images seem to cold and I have to use the curves in PS.

I have used the split toning before but I was hoping for a more automated solution.

I think the problem is I don't want an accurate white balance - I want one thats a bit warmer.

You can include the Split Toning settings in a preset and apply it on import or to a group later. I kind of like using that because it is applied on top of a click WB.
