my jpeg images are b&w and so are my raw files...this only happens with two 'old' fujifilm bodies I recently purchased, an x-e1 and and xe3.

I have nikon bodies, old and new, an Olympus m1 mark ll, and a ricoh GR and when I shoot b&w + raw, the raw files always come into lightroom in color as I'd expect the raw file to be.

Is there a setting in Lightroom where I can indicate that i want the jpeg files how I set the camera but the raw file in color as they should be? I've looked around and can't seem to find a solution. I've checked these fujifilm bodies and there doesn't seem to be any specific setting. I've been using lightroom to import jpeg + raw for a long time and I've never had this kind of behavior.

thanks for help in advance.

Wanted to add/edit my post above. Can we do that?

Anyway. I did a short test just now. Camera set to raw only. But I chose a b&w simulation so the lcd panel would be b&w. And dang, the raw files are all b&w. I don't understand this. Maybe it's a fujifilm thing. All my other cameras would import the raw files and they would be color. I've shot this way often to see in black and white for light and composition only.

I see 'edit' under my post. I guess it only lasts for a time and then editing isn't possible anymore. Ok.

Ok. I was able to find an answer. Sorry to bother you guys. It is the nature of the fuji raw files and how they imbed a jpeg with them. Weird. None of my other digital cameras do this. If I shoot a black and white jpeg plus a raw file on my Nikon body I get a Nikon raw file in color plus the b&w. This is special to fujifilm. I'm gonna have to do more research.

Seems nothing to do with lightroom.
