Just wondering... when should we expect the a major update to LR?

Are they going to be rolling out new versions on a regular basis or will we see multi-year stretches between updates?

It has been stated by Adobe that incremental releases will be made ro keep in line with ACR updates/camera releases.
I think we have seen the gap between 1 and 2 so that may be an indicator for major upgrades....
:?::?:

To be on par with Apple's Aperture, Microsoft buyed Adobe and will include Lightroom's engine as the photo manager of Windows 7! So, expect a few months...

Well it's not April 1st anymore, but if you do a few sums, I'd guess at least another 9 months. The last cycle from V1 to V2 was 18 months or so, and this version was released in July, so I suspect Dec or Jan.. But you know this is merely speculation?

Camera Raw went to version 4.6 in the previous release as quarterly releases, which is 18 months or so. If Lightroom matches this in the current release, we'll possibly go as far as 2.6. Again this is PURE speculation and only founded on a single release version of Lightroom.
Who knows what might happen?

And that's as good a guess as any, because IMHO the schedule is based on three things

1) bug fixes, 2.3 seems pretty stable in this regard
2) new camera support, as Sean says, has been running approx quarterly.
3) Adobe's accounting cycle. Products have to be timed both expenditure(development) and revenue (release) wise.

Again, pure speculation, based on very little facts or knowledge.
