what is the proper way to move a photo source file in LR?

i know i can move a file and click to have lr find it, but i heard there is a proper way in LR to have LR facilitate the file move.
anyone know how?

Well, you can drag a selected image (or images) from the library grid to the folder you want to move it to.
or
drag a complete folder (or folders) to a new location in the left hand pane "folders".

Not so sure I would call it the "proper" way, but it is far less confusing (for most folk) than digging around in the file structure under the database.
 
i should have explained my question better. I have photos on an external drive that i need to move to an internal drive.
 
Sorry didn't see your second post.
You will need to add the internal drive to the folder panel if it is not there, then you can drag folders or images into it. If yo have images you want to shift but no folder to shift them to click the + sign in the Folder bar and you will get the option to add a folder.
