What is NOT in the XMP Sidecars?

I know what "beta" means, consider myself suitably warned.

If I wanted to start using Beta 2 for real, what would be lost if I either (a) imported my LR2 catalog _contents_ in 3 by importing the images with sidecards, or (b) later convert my LR2 catalog to LR3, then import the images I had in LR3 (if it isn't possible to import/merge the LR3)?

I.e. what is in the catelog that is not in the sidecards/metadata?

- Collections?
- History of edits? (vs. net of edits)
?

You should be able to use Import from Catalog to merge the LR2 and LR3 versions into a single catalog after release. You might have a bit of tidying up to do, and I'd suggest doing an Export from Catalog on the LR3 catalog to clear out beta rubbish, but it works.
