What a waste of time to update to 10 for iPad edition

Lightroom Version Number
10.0
Operating System
  1. iPadOS
Adobe is having a laugh with the latest update to big fat 10.0 or should it read 0.0?
Only thing it has added is “Detect objects” radio button to Remove tool. I can’t see anything else.

It's just a dot release. They bump the numbers once a year, otherwise we’d still be saying version 1.102 or something equally ridiculous. Desktop has some nice improvements though!

We have come to expect new features with a whole number version increase. In reality Adobe releases a new version about every 2 months. In October to coincide with Adobe Max, they have increased the whole number instead of adding a decimal .

I was expecting at least denoise would be introduced to ipads utilising Apple silicon.
I don't think Denoise will ever be possible on tablets and phones. These devices simply do not have enough horsepower Also I think they are only capable of one task at a time

The new hardware come with M2, M4 with up to 16GB ram. They are even more powerful than many mbp used for Lightroom classic and desktop.

Then do the hard work on the server.

Do you think Adobe will be willing to do that for free? Take a look at Firefly credit model and see if that is likely to be applied.

IPadOS and Android are not multi threaded OS. And it take a multithreaded processor to handle the tasks

iOS is multithreaded, but some background tasks are restricted (avoid confusing the two concepts). Other tasks are less restricted, especially foreground tasks…iOS has no problem with running simultaneous operations smoothly such as playing an HD video in a picture-in-picture window while playing a game, editing processor-intensive video with DaVinci Resolve, and building previews in Lightroom.

And like Swingman said, there is absolutely nothing holding back the iPad on the processor side, since the M1 through M4 are essentially equal to base Mac hardware where AI Denoise is supported. iOS has the Apple Grand Central Dispatch (GCD) multi-core thread manager that is also found on the Mac. The iPad Pro also has the Apple Neural Engine, which AI Denoise can use for further acceleration (although Adobe had to stop using Neural Engine for now on the Mac due to issues).

Last month my Credit was 0/50. Now in the current month it is down to 16/50. So the answer is yes iPad version gets 50 credit every month.
