.webp import support?

We have a boatload of external .webp files that we want to catalog in LRc. However, it STILL doesn't support import (or native export) of .webp files. WebP has been around since 2010. Adobe finally added support in Photoshop 23.2 (Feb 2022). Nothing (so far) in LR (and yes, folks submitted requests to Adobe ages ago).

Anybody have any plugins/workarounds?

Maybe akin to https://johnrellis.com/photoshop/psbquicklook.htm ? (which reminds me of another pet peeve, that LR can't import large PSB's still - sigh).

By "large", are you referring to the file size in bytes or the total number of pixels (width x height)? The LR ecosystem can handle PSBs with arbitrarily large numbers of bytes (e.g. PSBs with 40 layers), but the Camera Raw engine limits the number of pixels to a maximum of 512 megapixels, with width and height no larger than 65,000 pixels.
