Okay, so some of you know that I am trying to get Lightroom Galleries enabled so I can have online proofing with a shopping cart and paypal hooked on to it for my weddings.
I started up my Lightroom 2.1, and noticed the Web link at the end of the row (top far left next to slideshow). I went in and it loaded one of my galleries. I noticed the button at the bottom that says, "upload". ???
I clicked it and it asked me for a password! ????
What password??
Can someone please explain this feature to me?
Is this what I am looking for?

Because my wedding site is a bludomain flash site, and my wedding template does not have client proofing or shopping cart capability. I cannot embed a program. But I can have an external link, if I had a link to assign it to.
Please help!!!

Hi Laurel,

LR can upload the generated gallery files (html, flash) directly via FTP on a webserver. The password it's asking for belongs to an FTP account.
The alternative is file export to a local drive. The resulting files are exactly the same.

Have you tried out the built in gallery features of LR to get an idea of the concept? After that you can search for extensions and additional galleries that may fit your needs.

I am so computer illiterate that I don't even know what that means.

Laurel,

You already started another thread on the same subject and got answers there too. At this point, I am suggesting you hire a consultant who may probably enlighten you or make a submission for free...

This thread is somewhat different because I am asking specifically about the web section of Lightroom 2.1
I did ask if this is what I will need for Lightroom Galleries, but I felt it was somewhat another subject. I would still like to know how to use the web feature of Lightroom 2.1

Lauren, you're going to have to learn the ins and outs of administering your own website, before the Web Module will be of any use to you.

Does BluDomain do your print fulfillment, and payment processing, etc. for you, or do they just host your galleries?

Bludomain provides online proofing galleries with front-end shopping cart with paypal with certain templates they offer. I have several templates, 2 that have that and one that doesn't. my wedding template does not have those features. I thought about using my template on portrait side for my wedding proofing gallery, but to upload 5''-8'' images (and resized) would be too much. I would love to do my own fulfillment with WHCC. but I do not know enough computer stuff to make it work. I am learning, but this curve looks greater than I anticipated. I will probably stick with Digilabs

Laurel, look in the other thread! I made a suggestion to you so you can put the galleries at use... somehow. ;)
