I am in the middle of a big job shooting 3'' churches. At the end of shooting each location, I record a WAV file with name of church and town. In Lightroom V 1.4.1, I can't find the file in the Metadata info. I can open files in Bridge. I get a thumbnail with WAV file. double click and it plays. Can anyone help. I am using a Nikon D3. Bob

Brad, BigBob started that one, too, some time ago. Needs further help.

Bob, are these recorded in camera, or post on your Mac? It's in camera recordings that should work.

Ralph, you are simply wrong.
Lightroom does support Wav. And Wav search.

Search for .wav in 1.41 and it will find wav files. V2 Wav search is broken and a known bug.

To help those playback wav, here's a metadata viewer preset:
http://lightroom-blog.com/AudioFile.lrtemplate.zip

unzip and follow these instructions:

http://regex.info/blog/2''7-'2-2'/386#install
Then select Audio File from the Preset list.
This preset shows 2 things: Filname and Wav.
Of there is no WAV, only the filename shows.

Any wav file with the same name as a file in Lightroom, in the same folder, will play back. If you are adding a wav file manually after import, you may need to Sync Folder before Lightroom will see it.

I've been testing with short excerpts from Deacon Blue...

There may be a time or size limit, I've not tested large files.

I stand corrected. Thank you. I haven't seen or heard any mention of this feature before. When I first read the post, I thought the poster was referring to the type images were displayed in the grid, i.e. raw, jpeg, PSD, etc.

Since I don't have any images with .wav files I am unable to give it a try. I tried searching the Help files for more info, though, and can't find any info anywhere. And I don't see it listed in the metadata under the file name as was mentioned ("All" is selected).

Is it something that appears only if there is a .wav file available?

As with JPEGs (as in Raw + Jpeg shooting) sound files will only be identified if the are there.

I don't do either so see neither.

Sean, I just sat down with BigBob at his machine and the .WAV file shows under the file name in LR 1.4.1 for him but it wont play. (Yes the volume is turned up).
