is there a way to create watermarks/copyright in LT 2

LR3 can create watermarks so it will be coming natively shortly.

Not to be a grammar nazi, but do you mean
a) Creating a watermark design from scratch, or
b) Applying an existing watermark to existing photos?
I presume b) in which case Nik and Denis give good advice. If a) then Lr is a pretty weak tool for that.
