I'd like a simple way to watermark images I'm putting on the web (fickr).

I sure hope the functionality of this aspect in LR is drastically improved come 2.'. I wish we could have a program that did not require SDK plug ins.

I and others have personally asked for the use of ID Plates that can be used in Print and Slideshow that can give this type of Watermark to be added for the same use for Web and Export. So far no luck. It has been a year!

That would be a LR function. Not SDK plugin.

I'm not so sure I agree. Think about this a second - Photoshop is now version 1' and has got to be one of the most bloated programs known to man, because it's trying to be all things to all people. And then look at all the plugins that are available - if they tried to include all of those in the program itself, the program would surely never even start.

Some functionality, I'd agree, needs to be included in the program itself. But the great thing about having plugins and an SDK is that you can pick and choose the features that are most important to YOU, without bogging down the program. And some plugins, particularly for things like lens corrections (hopefully one day!), will be able to offer far more control than if LR included it itself.

So maybe there's a case for both scenario's.

How bout creating the program at different levels aka Elements, PS, PS pro etc, whereby we get to pick and choose the functionality we desire.

Personally, i have seen very few requests for features that i would not use in some capacity. For me, the way PS is loaded up is great, i just can't use it!!! as it is so user unfriendly.

Program for Pro photographers needs the essentials and some. LR is still not near Pro level in many facets.

Not that i am Pro!!

Yeah, me too! Personally, I could care less if it comes as a plug-in or whatever as long as it's simple and easy to use. But having to rely on multiple third-party solutions for something every photographer could and should use for every image posted on the Web grates on me... I'm certainly not asking for another version of PS, I love LR and the design concept but there are certain features that are very common in the photographic community which Adobe claims to have built LR for and watermarking is one of those features.

And speaking of grating, whatintheHell happened to soft-proofing????? Folks at Adobe should have to start buying their own paper and ink......

Look here Bill, give the Adobe team a break. They are very stressed from all the flack that's been directed at them for such a useless application. The problem is the bottom fell out of the hat from which all the options to be included in vXX.xx were to be drawn from and the option papers blew off in the breeze. Now the team can't remember what was on the list and what's in the programme!! :cheesy::cheesy::lol::lol:;);):shock::roll::roll::mrgreen::mrgreen:

Well fry me for an oyster! :) That's so typical of me, hanging on to a useless application and trying to make do.......;)

But if they're lacking in the hat department they just need to get in touch and I can fix them right up! Anything from a Braves World Series ball cap to my latest acquisition, a genuine Aussie Stockman and lots more in between! Maybe the X-Files hat would come in handy..... "Trust No One"!!!

Maybe that's why George has limited himself to lame interviews and how-to's in his podcasts.... the whole team is out looking for hats and Post-it notes.....:shock::shock:

We could suggest a South Pacific Shoot in one of the most scenic countries in the world, I'll try and think of one!!:cheesy::cheesy: no stockmen either!!
