I am trying to print the attached image onto 14x11 paper. I want to have a 1/2 border around the image. I tried resizing under ..Image> Image size> 13x11. Then did ...Image>Canvas size>14x11. It didn't work out. So as a test I left the image @ 14x11 and changed the canvas size to 12x9 and this is the result I got with both efforts. What I am missing here.
Thank for the help
Tim

Windows 10 is running 10.0.19044
PS is running ver 23.50

If you do have LrC v11.5, why are you not printing from LrC where the 'Print' interface options are so much easier to comprehend?
1) Choose you paper size in [Page Setup]
2) Set your Cell Size and margins in the Layout panel.

You can even [Print to JPG]. ie. You design the print with your required margins, etc, [Print to JPG] creates a JPG file that you can then print with any other app.

Thank you for the tip Rob. I was hoping to find a solution as to why this was happening in PS, and then venture into the actual process
of printing the image. I don't do my own printing but send it to a lab. Again thanks for the tip.

Getting back to Photoshop and your image-
If you are printing to 14x11 paper and want a 1/2inch border all around then your image will need to be 13x10 RATIO (or close to that). ie. similar crop RATIO to the paper.
So the process in Photoshop would be like-
1) CROP to 13x10 ratio
2) Resize to 13" x 10"
3) Change the Canvas size to 14" x 11" (set Canvas Extension Background color to white)

Don't forget that this printed image will only have a 1/2" border if the printer prints 'borderless'.

Did you understand that my suggestion to "Print to a JPG" from LrC does exactly that- it creates a JPG file that you can send to the lab.

Let me start by saying I did get the part about "Print To A JPG" and have that one figured out. That will work well.

Attached is the image that I got from following your instructions, which is what I did when I first posted. The "Canvas extension colour" is greyed out, but If I go to "Layer, New, Background From Layer" it gives my the chance to change the colour. I'm not sure why the corners are cut off that way. I must be missing something in the resizing . .

I'm getting more familiar with using PS but I can see your point. Other than starting from scratch, which I certainly can do , how would you suggest I try and remedy this problem.

I can see two choices- LrC and Ps.

The easiest is in Lightroom-Classic.
First- Set the 'PAPER' SIZE: [Custom File Dimensions for the JPG]
Note: 'Print To.." is set as [JPEG File ] and Dimensions are Width x Height 14.00in x 11.00in (for Horizontal print)
2022-09-15 05_48_42-Roberts Catalog-v11 - Adobe Photoshop Lightroom Classic - Print.jpg

Second- Set the CELL SIZE Height & Width to 10x13in so as to give a 1/2" border on the 11x14in 'paper'.
Have [ZOOM TO FILL] checked 'on' (which WILL Crop the image slightly.)
2022-09-15 05_49_32-Roberts Catalog-v11 - Adobe Photoshop Lightroom Classic - Print.jpg

Then create the JPG [Print to FILE...] that you send to the print lab.

In Photoshop- It is again as in Post#4 above. You need a H10xW13 image to place on a H11xW14 page. How you achieve the H10xW13 image is up to you- Either Crop it to H10xW13, or add extra (Black) margins to the image to make it H10xW13. Then add the extra 1/2" margin.
