Vista and Smugmug- I have a problem

I was able to install Jeffrey Friedl's "Export to Smugmug " Plugin. When I export one image as experiment, the image goes to my C-drive under pictures as oppose to Smugmug.
In Smugmug, I have an empty gallery. So, I push the add photos button. I get the window: Easy ways to add photos- simple, photoshop, lightroom, etc. But, I have already installed the plugin. I seemed to be in a loop.
Smugmug support is blaming lightroom or the plugin.
Any ideas what went wrong?

PLease show us a screen shot of how you have set-up the SmugMug Dialog in LR. That is Export an image and when the Export Dialog opens and you choose SmugMug as the preset, show us your settings, including Gallery Listings.

Sounds like you are only setting the Export Location which can be a temporary folder and not the Gallery in the SmugMug: Upload Destination section lower down in the dialog.

As per previous email, I really do not know much about computers. Honestly, I do not know how to do a screen shot:?: I have never tried or done it before.

PS: the only window I am seeing is the LR plugin manager which tells me- Smugmug installed and running. I do not see any window resembling your screen shot.

Under LR plug-in manager window, its says Smugmug installed and running- not true. I forgot to hit the add button. So, I did it this time. I got a warning message: An error occurred while attempting to load this plug-in.:evil:

PS; I looked around all the drop down menus- nothing about screen shots.

On a PC I believe you just press the key near upper right corner that says, Screen Shot, or some such.

Can anyone else help Bob on this point, of a screen shot?

Aaah, Bob, at the top of the Export dialog, it probably says something like "Files on Disk" with a nice big icon graphic. At the far right of that, there's a double headed arrow, click on that, and see if one of your choices is SmugMug.

I've attached 3 screen shots showing the process with flickr, rather than SmugMug.

I tried typing snip tool in the search box but nothing happens. But, that is Ok Now, I can get my website going.

Oh, by the way, the key on the far right hand side- says pause/break. I am going to take a break!

I think the key I meant actually says, print screen or such?? and is near the other.

I have a print screen/SysRq button. I push it- nothing. I even turned on the printer to see if it prints- nothing.

Bob, Windows puts the screen capture file in the Windows Clipboard. You then have to paste that into a graphics application, for instance the included Windows Paint. From there save it as a JPG. For forum attachment, it has to be smaller than about 25' kB, so it needs to be a relatively small, low quality jpg save.

I just want to make one clarification. I have two computers side by side. One is as described below using Vista. My other one is Dimension 46'' using Windows XP. I use the XP for my emails so that would explain why I could not find the snipping tool. I was able to locate the clipboard on the XP. And, I found the snipping tool on Vista. Sorry for the confusion:!:

The PrtScr key is the way to go for any version of Windows. If you just press it, like Brad said it will go to the clipboard ready to be pasted but it will take the whole screen! If you just want the active window (the one having focus), press the Alt key at left of space bar together with PrtScr.
