I scanned an old black and white image and saved it as a tiff file. I was unable to view the imported file in the library module so I opened the file in CS3 and saved the picture as a PSD file. After importing and viewing the PSD file in the library module in lightroom I am unable to edit the photo in the develop module. Does lightroom only allow editing raw, dng, and jpeg files? Thanks!

Hi Gerald, is it a grayscale ?? That may have something to do with it. TIFF or PSD should be fine.

Geoff's correct, LR can't handle a grayscale file. It has to be RGB.

Read this short thread, which includes a hint on how to convert the file to RGB in PS.

About time I had something right !!:cheesy::cheesy::cheesy::cheesy::shock::mrgreen:

Thanks for the advice. I did scan the photo in 8 bit grayscale.
