view options

In develop when you set view options to temorarily display image info when image changes - how is this supposed to work?

What I have is that it reappears if I mouseover the image in the main window and stays - doesn't go at all as long as the mouse is either in the main window or over the thumbnails. It does dissapear if I mouseover the panels at side or top

Also after I change it in the menu "VIEW" stays blue even after I have closed the window:?

The information does dissappear now after a while as it should - when i posted the meassage it wasn't

also I have a question about the same view settings in Library as the pic shows something aint right

Ah, I see what you mean! I think that blank section at the top is probably to blame for your weirdness (Lr's weirdness, not yours..... )

Is there anything in that dropdown box? Can you select 'Info 1' there?

I can select info 1 or 2 but only if the 'show info overlay' box is checked

When I uncheck it, (on the assumption that it makes the overlay permanent rather than showing it temporarily), the preference for info 1 or 2 dissapears when the preferece window is reopened - ie. not immediately - it appears to 'stick' even when not ticked (greyed out but visible)but changes to blank when you're not looking -i.e. when you close it

OK same prob in v 2.1

no matter what I check the second option shows temporarily, either that or defalt option is on all the time

i.e. this preference is broken

Well, just try moving it somewhere else, and if it doesn't fix it, you can then put it back without having to reset all of your prefs manually.

And if it does fix it, reset all of your prefs and then save a copy of that 'clean correct' prefs file somewhere ready for next time.

ok thanks, but Ican't find the prefs - can you remind me where they are please?

MacHD/users/[your user]/library/preferences/adobe lightroom 2.plist is the one you want.

I deleted the prefs and had to rechoose the right library as it loaded an old one that doent work with current file hierarchy on hD, and nope - didnt change behavior of view options

If I set option 1 to 'show briefly' when image changes it shows option 2, if I set option 2 it sets option 2 ( so theyre not just reversed)::evil:

What I want is option 1 to show briefly when I change image:roll:

What I'd really like is option 1 to show briefly but be able to view option 2 if i mouse over it, or an icon to click at top of screen

this is the same still in LR2.3

I cant get this view option to work still in 2.3

Im sure it worked in a previous version of LR as I rmemeber using it and the info appearing just for a few secs.
