Library module Videos won't play in 7.3

I have some older videos which played OK in previous versions - in 7.3 the video is marked with a "!" in the filmstrip with the message "Lightroom has encountered problems with this video". The preview is simply grey. There is a control bar at the bottom of the (blank) preview area but nothing happens when you click play. The particular video was a .MOV file

I found various suggestions by Googling but none of them worked and the conclusion seemed to be that this a common bug which Adobe need to fix. Has anybody else encountered this and/or fixed it?.

On further investigation it's appears to be just older low res MOV videos (18 out of a total of 109), which is not recent. It plays OK if I just double click in file explorer. The other MOV, AVI, MTS& MP4 videos are OK. Including one I imported yesterday.

There's a bunch of video related bugs that seem to be on the "someday maybe" fix list.
