Lightroom Classic seems to either remove or ignore GPS location metadata in video files. GPS location metadata in RAW files is displayed in the metadata panel and displayed in the Map module.
Is it documented whether video file GPS metatdata is removed or just ignored?
Is it possible to get LrC to use GPS metadata in video files. In particular iPhone video files that have location metadata.

I haven't had that problem with my Iphone videos (spanning many models) on my LR 15.5.1 or earlier versions:

As a next troubleshooting step, upload a sample video to Wetransfer, Dropbox, Google Drive or similar free service and post the sharing link here. I can put the video under the microscope to see what might be going wrong. Alternatively, start a new thread in the Adobe forum, and it will let you attach videos up to 47 MB in size.

I did a test video and find that the GPS data is imported properly into LrC. For some reason a bunch of videos I shot in Costa Rica are not showing GPS location metadata. I am not sure why but I must have done something wrong when I shot the video. All my photos have GPS data so I think that means location was turned on. Regardless, it appears that my conclusion that LrC was not accessing GPS metadata for video is wrong.

A common mistake is applying a metadata preset on import (or later), where the GPS fields are empty, but still checked in the preset. The same could happen if you synchronize metadata, and the source image has no GPS data, but you still checked those fields.
