In the thread on 1.3 sticky sliders, you said you were using a Griffin PowerMate for for slider control.

I just happened to have one laying around, and installed it. I'm running Wintel XP Pro SP2.

I set

CW/CCW to UP and DOWN arrows,
Depress Knob to 'Z' for zoom/unzoom
CW/CCW while depressed to ctrl-Right and ctrl-Left for filmstrip navigation.

I was wondering how you were set up. Personally I find the slider control still a little granular using the PM, and a little sluggish.

You said you were very happy with your setup, can you elaborate?

I rarely use the turn-while-depressed, so it's largely just turn left and turn right to up and down keys. I played with the speed that it would send commands, until I hit on one that was right for me.

So in one hand, powermate, with keyboard nearby for other commands, and in my other hand, Wacom tablet, for easy movement between controls. I float over one slider, turn the dial, and when it's gone far enough, I can float off over the picture and the slider stops moving in an instant. It sends a nice little error thud as the up/down command it's sending doesn't do anything, but I'm busy thinking about what I want to tweak next.

OK, I'll tweak the PM sensitivity. The granularity I'm seeing would be the same using the up/down arrows as well.

I've tried operating LR with my Wacom, and wasn't coordinated enough to tweak the sliders, this might be a happy medium.

Some time ago, I lobbied for a 'two-speed' slider. One of my audio app's has sliders, that you grab, and they adjust 'coarsely' with an axial (left-right) movement and 'finely'
with a perpendicular (up/down) movement.
