Ver.1 moving development to other PC?

Ver 1.0 moving development to other PC?

I have LR ver 1.' installed on both a PC and notebook.

I tried to move photos and their development from one to the other and found out that the 'export catalog' command is used.
Unfortunately I could not find this command in my LR and had to find out that ver 1.' simply does not have catalogs yet
and that supposedly with LR ver 1.' it is not possible to load development of one PC on another computer...oh no..

my questions therefore:
Is there a way to load my developments done in LR ver 1.' in another computer, and if so, how?
could upgrading to a newer version of LR first be the solution, and if so, how best to proceed?

P.S.
also found out that:
- ver 1.' calles it's backupfiles LRDB files not LRCAT as in later versions.
- these files are found in: My Documents\My Pictures\Lightroom\Backups
so I had tried to:
- copy LRDB files from one computer into the same location of the other ( it's the same version of LR installed )
- imported the photos in the 2nd computer and reconstructed their file structure to be the same as on the original PC.
but unfortunately all to no avail, the developments would not load on the notebook I had copied the files to.

Welcome to Lightroom Forums!

Yes, first upgrade to 1.4.1 or 2.'.

What 1.' called Libraries are now (as of 1.1) called Catalogs. Once you upgrade, LR will automatically update your existing library, and then you'll be able to use the Export as Catalog function.

maybe for some other question because this one really was too easy to be mess up with.
After upgrading, and to my knowledge any version later than ver 1.' will do, all there is to it:

on PC1: file > export as catalog: choose location where to save it.
on PC2: file > import from catalog: go to the location where you have made the files accessible, either internal or external HD,
open the folder and choose the Ircat file...finished!

note: read other had problems when exporting quantity. Exporting already edited 1613 RAW files with LR ver1.3.1 went just fine, PC being a humble P4 2.4GH with 2GRam.
