I have tried to import some vector files ( .ai ) into LRC but seem to not be able to. Is this me or Lightroom ?

It's you, and it's Lightroom. Lightroom does not support vector files.

Ah, fair enough. I wasn't expecting to actually be able to do anything with them in LR, other than locate and open them in PS or AI. It just would have handy to have them with my images all in the same starting place. Thanks for the clarification.
