I often find myself wanting to darken part or most of a background relative to another object, such as a person against a scene.
I generally adjust the exposure et al so the person looks good. Then I use the adjustment brush to paint and darken the background.
One could do it the other way; ie lighten the person. But I tend to get halos when I do it this way.
I'm curious as to how others do this, and tips they might have ( such as always feather at 50, or use of the auto mask).
