Using LR2 when traveling- how to access the LR data files on another HD

I use LR2 at home with the pictures/files on a fast HD. When traveling, I will want to run it off my 5''gb portable drive. The files are identical, copied and updated by ChronoSync. When I simply open LR2 with the portable drive attached, the files are "offline", even though I have them on the portable drive. How can I "redirect" LR2 to the data file on the portable drive, so I don't have to re-import 1''gb+ of data?

right click on the top most folders and then point LR at the new directory structure.

You may be able to create aliases on the Mac Book that point to the portable drive. I haven't tested this though.
