Using Lightroom Classic and iPad together?

I have a similar question to this Using Lightroom Classic and Cloud together?
I've read some posts and I am equally lost.
I think I want to buy an iPad and use it while im on the road to edit some picks.
How can i absorb both the raw files and the edits I've made on the road from my ipad to my usual LrC desktop setup.
This is all VERY confusing...

Sign in on the iPad, making sure you use the same account as you use in LrC.

Import raw files into the iPad, attaching the camera by USB or the card in a card reader.

Go home, open LrC, and just wait. The raw files will appear in LrC with and edits, flags, ratings.

It should be that simple, so maybe say what's confusing.

Essentially, you are working with your images in the Adobe Cloud. Lightroom Mobile is simple the app that processes your images and sends them to the Adobe Cloud along with any edits you might have made. This means while on the road (or after you return) you need to sync the work you have done in Lightroom mobile to the Adobe cloud. While traveling, I find hotel WiFi to be minimal but will sync my Lightroom Activity overnight. When I travel, I leave my Lightroom Classic computer running 7X24 with Classic sync turned on to receive any synce files from the Adobe Cloud. That way my images arrive in Classic before I get home.

Lightroom mobile has two settings (Device(Local) and Lightroom (cloud)). You want to store your images using the Lightroom setting so that they will automatically sync to the Adobe Cloud. If you are not connected to the internet, the Lightroom Setting will hold your images on the iPad until such time when the app is running and you have an internet connection to the Adobe Cloud.

To avoid confusion, we use the term "Lightroom Desktop"/LrD. to refer to the Cloud based app that runs on your 'real' computer and Lightroom Classic to refer to the Legacy app that also runs on the computer.

Since the Adobe Cloud syncs down to Classic, you want to go to Lightroom Setting and assign the destination to something other than the default location. If you already use a date based folder scheme for your other images, you can set the destination folders up to match. If you let Lightroom Classic use the default, a computer generated folder name (GUID) will be created inside your Lightroom folder.

Lr on mobile or tablet will only work with images stored on the mobile device internal storage.. will not work with images, say, on a connected external drive.

So.. make sure your mobile device has enough space for your images, at least until they synch to LrCloud.
