I'm quite pleased with the results I get when using NX2 on the more difficult raw conversions compared to LR. However I don't like the way the integration is done with the intermediate TIFF file.

Is there some script I can use instead of NX2 that will:

- strip the -Edit tag and change the extension to .nef
- open the nef file in NX2
- in NX2 I will have to save the file both as NEF and TIFF
- move the generated TIFF file to the initial TIFF filename

Or should I create a script with the name of Photoshop and run NX2 from it and use the new LR2 feature to suppress the intermediate TIFF file for Photoshop edits?

No, no scripts and no smooth way to integrate them - I doubt Adobe will spend much time introducing one either.

You've a couple of choices - Ctrl R to go to Explorer, then double click to open the NEF in the PC's default application, assuming that's NX2.

Alternatively, do a file export and choose original. Put a shortcut to Capture in your Export Actions folder and choose that as the Post Processing step. Pretty sure that works

John, thanks for the suggestions. I will try these and see what I like best.

Please, keep us (me only?) informed.
Same problem here. Not sure if LR2 solved this (cannot imaging that it did).

NX2 won't read LR adjustments and LR won't read NX2 adjustments.
On RAW/NEF that is.

DNG is there. Some years????

Have you tried the new profile editor for DNG?

I would think that would give you as close to if not more accurate color rendition out of LR than NX2, which is of course the point of its release.
